I'll be that one guy.....

I was really happy with the notifications being broken. I suspect I"ll now have an additional 1600 notifications.

The rest of what was said here has been of keen interest. I hope things are on solid ground?

I got about two dozen notifications. But not one for this thread. LMAO! They must know me.

I'll volunteer to take over the forum and run it. If no one else is going to. If they think it's such an eyesore I'd be happy to oblige.

I still don't understand this "undercurrent" of political weirdness or whatever the comment was. I've never seen anyone post anything political or religious. Which is preferable to me.

So what's the "Under current"? No politics = liberal politics? Or something?

I can see how they don't want this forum though. They really are a search & rescue helper group. At least that's what it seems. I think their mission statement even states that. IIRC. And a lot of us have other interests like prepping and backpacking. Probably more so than the whole "let's go help search & rescue" bunch. I've said it before. This forum is what it is. If they wanted it to be a search & rescue forum they should have named it "The Search & Rescue Forum". Instead it confuses everyone because Zombies are part of a PAW situation. Which brings preppers into the mix. and those of us that just like to talk all things prepping/hunting/guns/equipment/hiking/fishing etc etc etc.

It's to bad. Cause this is my second favorite forum. But maybe it's good cause it's not overly moderated. Although it must be as I never see anything political or religious.

Patrick

PS - I'm home sick so excuse the lack of grammar and clear thoughts above. :)

Lack of grammar and clear thoughts? That is SOP on the Internet, right? LOL

I doubt very much they'd give you the keys. I'm not saying that you couldn't do it, but they would be literally handing the furum and the server (And control of it) over to you.

Over the past number of years, the pendulum has swung back and forth with what was considered politics and what was allowed or not allowed. Add to that Moderator bias, and a few other issues. Currently I think it's pretty stable...

They may not want it, but they use it as a marketing tool, a requirement device, and sell memberships to the org, with extra use of the forum. It's cutting off your nose to spite your face. Would also probably help if they didn't outright tell us they hate us...

That said, this forum *IS* clownshoes. The firearms section is way too big, the other sections are way too small, and Off-topic needs to be burned to the ground trimmed back a lot. We do need to refocus, and separate a lot of chaff, and change a bunch of rules. And leadership knows it.

Please be patient. It will happen.

Crypto's post is a hall-of-fame post because it's true.

So enjoy your count to a million threads, your off-topic firearms babble, and your asking about which shotgat is the best protection against home invasion by former carnies of Spanish descent wearing Baltimore Orioles baseball caps while it lasts, because the gap between ZS meatspace and ZS forums has to shrink and soon.

?Yes?

Specifically in this case, I think they are talking about the separation between the real word ZS'ers and the forums.

Well after the initial dump - nothing. No more notifications. I guess I'm one of the "forum" types and not one of the "meatspace". lol.

I did not receive a notification from the reloading thread from two days ago. I posted & there was a reply, but no notice. I have been receiving other notification, however.
