The computer virus vs the biological virus. Is it possible for something other then a human to catch the Zombie infection?

The way I figure it, the only reason why computers still come equipped with tray-loading optical drives is so they can eat our brains......

I would have to say it would depend on the mythology or nature of the virus. But I would certainly limit it to living creatures and not mechanical. Since a cyborg is both mechanical and biological, the living part could become infected with a virus, and if it has computer components it could also get infected with a computer virus. But I do not think a Cyberdyne Systems Models 101, 600, 800, 850, 1000 could carry a zombie virus. But a UniSol Cyborg (Universal Soldier 1992) could. Could be the next exploit for zombie films...

UniZom... Genetically engineered, mechanically ehnanced, to be the perfect killing machine. Their forces grow with every battle. But when Umbrella Corp. looses control of their super-weapon, can Alice restore the global community... This movie has not yet been rated...

If that happen the survivors have no hope to live even if animal, etc. remain only carriers of the virus.
Regarding a cyborg I think they could catch the virus if their brain remain, or at least partially, remain biological.
And even a biological computer could catch the virus if this thing could catch any biological creature or at least become the carrier of the disease.
But, fortunately, the stories tend to avoid situations with no way out.
