New Forum Feature: Post Limits

Post by kyle » Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:09 am

Over the last several months the Zombie Squad forum has had an expected number amount of high quality discussions but we've also have an increasing number of questionable quality posts and threads. As good stewards to Zombie Squad, we respect the direction that some members in the community are taking the organization, both good and bad, but we will be forced to make a few changes in order to manage the flow of unexpected Internet data and bandwidth costs.

To handle this massive increase in chatter, we are forced to limit the number of posts per user. At this time, all users have been limited to only one (1) post every 2 hours. This will limit all users to a total of 12 posts per day over a 24 hours period.

Starting tomorrow, you will find a new feature in the ZS store that will allow you to sell and/or buy posts, as needed, for a small fee. This way, users who do not post as often can trade their unused posts with other users who need more posts to express themselves to the rest of ZS and to the Internet.

Use your posts wisely!!

There will be a few exceptions to this new policy that we would like everyone to observe:
1) All posts in "Off topic" are considered two (2) posts

2) ZS members posting from an IP address in the OMST zone (UTC+07:00) will not be affected by the post limitations between 03:00 and 05:00 CDT (UTC-05:00)

3) New users may be required to submit to a meyers briggs evaluation before posting in the Introduction thread

4) Any gardening related posts are only consider one-half (1/2) of a post

5) If a disaster occurs we will double everyone's ration for 24 hours immediately after

6) Users who make repeat attempt to post more than their allotted amount will be banned for 24 hours. During that time they will not accrue posting credits

7) Due to copyright concerns, we can no longer accept posts from Apple devices

8) lolcatz posts don't count towards your limit

9) All lawn care related posts made after April are considered three (3) posts

10) Unlimited posting can be purchased for $20.00 but requires a background check (additional $1,000) and a three day waiting period. The background check processing fee is nonrefundable.

11) Forum users with adjusted gross incomes below $15,452.37 may apply for exemption for the lawn care related post limitation after submitting proof of income

12) Some forum users may be required to install the google toolbar to continue posting due to a licensing agreement

13) Due to overwhelming costs for bandwidth incurred as a result of repeated chat threads, Zombiesquad has had to accept a bailout from the government to continue doing business. We have been deemed an essential survival community which is considered too big to fail. Because of this we are proud to announce our new partnership with the General Motors corporation. Any user who purchases at least 5000 extra posts during the month of April will be automatically entered into our "Win the ultimate Bug-Out vehicle contest" with one winner randomly selected from all eligible entries to receive a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Off Road Edition (TM)

14) All money left over from the selling/buying of forum posts, that is not used towards our hosting costs, will put in our collection that fund the ZS program to launch a satellite into orbit.

The new post limitations will not be implemented to our Facebook discussion forum: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Zombie-S ... 2373072738" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The ZS APPROVED web browser is Lynx. We cannot support any other browser, due to license agreements.

All cake vs. pie posts should result in an automatic debit of $1.00 from the member's checking account.

Interesting that these new "rules" are being implemented on April 1st...

That reminds me, I need to work on my garden this summer.

(1/2 a post? :D )

EDIT: Didn't realize you guys were serious about the post limit. This kind of blows.

What about sweet sweet brownies?

Can I trade in air-miles for ZS posts? Do you take REI dividends?

I was wondering what ZS had in store for us this April Fools....

But how can I go on knowing that people can only be subjected to my valuable thoughts and opinions only twice a day? It's a crime, I tell you. I guess I'd better make 'em extra profound... or just get really interested in gardening.

last year's was indeed better. they had me going up to the numbered list though

I presume my handicap sticker will allow me to make advancements on my future allotted posts as my life expectancy is currently in question.

I to would like to trade in my sky miles. Take delta? How many miles a post?
Upon reading one of my posts you should assume that before I post I reread my posts twice and then often again after I post to check and recheck for spelling and grammatical errors. And I still miss most of them because, as it turns out, when you are home-schooled, you are only as smart as your mom.

I'm with alias. These new rules will really help me to unplug and get stuff done instead of constantly checking ZS.

3) New users may be required to submit to a meyers briggs evaluation before posting in the Introduction thread
I am sure all the ISTJ's will have no problem with this. But us ENTJ's are going to want to do something else.
12) Some forum users may be required to install the google toolbar to continue posting due to a licensing agreement
11) Forum users with adjusted gross incomes below $15,452.37 may apply for exemption for the lawn care related post limitation after submitting proof of income
What are you trying to insinuate here? :P

Will that work on Firefox?

And to insure that this post does not count:

You know what this means as far as it concerns me? I'll actually focus on my profession and that means more revenue will be collected. 8)
Sorry, when you get your tax lability letter, blame Kyle.

OT: So this year I'm planning on getting my Azaleas going and planting some fruit trees. I really need to break ground on the Rose Arbor. :D

And a question, who's going to keep track of all this? Sounds tedious.
