Work in progress...

Tuesday

The advance team arrived a little after noon. The weather was great. Well, it was hot (not too hot) and humid, but it wasn't raining. We unloaded the trailer, loaded up people's trucks and started hauling stuff up the mountain. We made such good time that most of the non-Ewoks set up their campsites and hoped a storm wouldn't blow everything off the hill.

We went to hit a barbecue joint in Caledonia, but it's closed on Tuesdays (WTF?!). We ended up settling on Russel's Diner which is fucking awesome. Our group did get split up, though, and some people went to the old standby -- Blake's BBQ in Desloge.

After dark, we passed around the Jameson's and started a new tradition with Crypto's Manbath-tub gin.

Sorry about the blurry ones.

Just looked through the Photobucket album, with no captions and not being there it's a fun guessing game of WTF is going on in some pics. It's heartwarming to see that Hennessy and ENO weren't the only 'hammocks' at ZCon  .

I figured that a campout of zombie-apocalypse preppers would look strange, but I somehow didn't expect what I just saw. Sounds like a good time though.

Friday night was Formal Night, for the 10th State of the Squad, with Karaoke Night and a full bar on the mountain. Some of us have varying definitions of formalwear.

It's okay, "kinda blurry as the night progressed" is precisely how most of us remember it too. ;)

What's the lat and long of that location so we can Google Earth your campsite?

Zcon takes place on private land so this is not something we can share on public discussion areas.

It's going to take me a while to go through all of my pics, but in the meantime here's a few teasers to get the ball rolling.

That looks like a blast, and I wouldn't expect anything less from you guys. I just wish I lived about 4,000 miles closer.
