Yeah, AK mags might require a bungie of some type...

I'm gonna advise all parties to avoid addressing "How would we use this?" type flaming, because, as always...

Situation Dictates.

It's always nice to be able to carry ammo, and gear for it is always under development. Homebrew gear fills those niches the market hasn't found. If you think you have a use for it, I thank you for sharing. You are certainly not alone.

If that was meant for me, I wasn't questioning the need for the gear just the situation he presented. I love a good bandoleer :D

I should post a few pictures of a bandolier I modified,

I too felt the shame of the shotgun belts, but I turned it into a shotgun suspender that runs the shells across your chest, pix will come soon

Looks good! Have you tried jumping/running to see if anything falls out?

Seems like a decent alternative to the BFG 10Speed chest rig.

To put it nicely I have concerns how this rig would secure mags, let alone a handgun, if you were actually moving, bending, jumping and climbing.

p-mags are VERY secure. anything else not so much. I did lots of jumping jacks and rolling around with very little shifting. crawling (physically pushing on the mags with the ground) would be the only real way to knock these out unintentionally. and no, the hand gun will pop right out if you're inclined to participate in ninja rolls.

So I know this is a very old thread. But anyone have the pictures from the original post?
Looking to get a setup like this to go with my AR pistol, because I can mostly.

Just look at the Grey Ghost bando, that is basically what I had made:

https://greyghostgear.com/products/6-mag-bandolier

The Blue Force Gear 6-pack accomplishes the same thing in a form-factor that may be more appealing to some:

https://www.blueforcegear.com/ten-speed-m4-6-pack-bandolier.html

The extra stabilizing strap gives you the option to be far more secure then a basic bando.

Yeah, the GGG Bandoleer was what I was thinking of, was looking more for something that carries 3-4 mags max but I guess I could just not stuff mags into 2-3 of the elastic slots. Loading from the chest is more natural for me. The BFG one looks nice, but just not what I'm looking for.
Purpose of the bandoleer is to just have something kept with the AR that I can literally just throw over my shoulder no matter what I'm wearing, be that regular EDC or the whole gun/scout/battle/WhateverNicknameIsCoolNow set up.

My next fast-grab project is just a shoulder strap on a 3-mag BFG 10-speed pouch, I'm curious if I can mount a FAK on the backside of the pouch securely enough to have a mini-chest rig but with only one strap, as you say to throw on at a moments notice.
