A little Brunton compass.

Not strictly bug out related since it's multi-functional, but it will live attached to the bag.

Got the Deepwoods Leather fishing kit today in the mail. Great little pocket fishing kit to keep in a pocket or bag to have the ability to fish in an emergency, or use it just for fun. I am looking forward to many years of use with it.

Also got a sun oven from sunoven.com using the Doug and Stacy discount code I put int the bug out gear deals thread.

5.11 Tactical Rush 12 backpack - Black
ENO Dry Fly Rain Tarp
Collapsible 5-Gallon water jug
6.25 gallons worth of water purification tablets
Lifestraw GO bottle
Thin, compressed foam pad for my tent bottom*
2x Field & Stream Pro Headlamps

* The pad has a few uses that I'm going to test out to see how it plays. I first need to cut it to fit the base of my tent, it should cover the "torso half" of the 3-person tent. Only two of us use it, but we are going to start taking our dachshund on our little adventures and I think the added insulation will be welcome for him, as well as keeping me from losing it when he habitually digs at the ground before getting comfy. Dig on the mat and your blanket little man, save the tent floor.

The mat is very light, but a little bulky. I'm also going to try it out as a ground mat under the ENO fly as well as an had-hock shelter, but I;m confident the bulk of it will nudge me in a different direction.

Yes, the fly is quite expensive compared to a "just as good tarp", but there are weight/packability savings I like, as well as it being more conducive to use more prominently with the actual hammock I have as well, warrenty stuff, etc... And I want it.

Not sure if this technically qualifies, but I backed this Kickstarter campaign, and should receive my keychain firestarter whistle in October:

My latest has been a surplus Ranger rack.

Its not exactly high speed low drag, but it works and it was cheap. I wont lie, I LOVE DCU! Of course had to get a couple 3 mag shingles and some double mag pouches too.

I went to the next level and purchased a military style Brunton. Much better than the watchband one I previously got. Actually tempted to purchase a couple more for redundancy.

Bought a cool new addition to my WROL, or worse, knife options. The Cold Steel Chaos Stiletto is amazing! I own a repro WWI trench knife but it was a Budk special so I wouldn't carry it as combat ready gear.

You can drive this through anything! This I will carry if I really need a down and dirty fighting knife I will have it. Was on sale at MidwayUSA ($40) but they marked it back up right after I got mine.

Pictures need to be hosted on a dedicated image hosting website. In order to post them you will need the URL of the picture and then use the image tag button in the toolbar above the new message.

In between the "[*img]"and the"[/img]]*]" you need to paste the image URL. You'll end up with something that looks like this:
[*img]http://www.imagehostingsite.com/yourimage.jpg[/img]*]

The asterisk is there just so that you can see the example but you do not want the "*" from inside the image tags [img] instead of [*img].)

Max image width or height is 850 pixels if I recall correctly
