I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

Savage Axis XP Rifle for $219 after MIR at Academy. They throw in a $30 gift card making the price $189. Dirt cheap deal on a good BA CFR.

Wow. That looks like a complete redesign of the stock at least too. I'll have to check out Savages site. Comes in .06 too. Dang. CDNN had the 111 on sale for $350 this summer. Hard to decide which one is a better deal. You're killing me here Sterc. ;) And with a Weaver scope. That's incredible that one of the top three manufacturers of bolt guns would have an .06 for $189! Those are like 1960's prices. And Savage is my favorite manufacturer.

PS - Make sure you scroll all the way to this deal. There is another Savage Axis II on like page 4 or something. This deal is further along in the ad.
They broke me.

I picked up one in 6.5 Creedmoor. I got the last one in the store in that caliber, display model so they knocked off a few more dollars for handling marks. After MIR and gift card end price is under $160 for a 6.5C bolt rifle. The scope is a Weaver Kaspa and is going for (without rings) $104 on Amazon right now. I must say that is the best deal on a gun I have gotten in years.

I've sold 3 of my coworkers and dad on that deal, and IMO it's the best deal in shooting for a general use rifle.

Good enough I'm really tempted to get one myself, even though I have a 6.5 Grendel that fits my needs well enough.

Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife - $17.99 + $3.75 shipping at MassDrop. Available in a variety of colors.
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/light-my-f ... -fireknife

If you can't see the purchase price at the above link, it's because you have to actually join MassDrop. I've joined (it's free) although to date I've never made a purchase.

A Mora blade with a Light My Fire ferrocerium rod integrated into the handle. Nothing particularly heavy duty, but it's a nicely integrated package. I keep it in my day pack at all times. It's light enough I don't really know its there. The blade is typical Mora quality (ie: quite good) and has a proper flat milled spine for use with the fire steel. The ferrocerium is very high grade; it throws sparks like crazy.

Average selling price on Amazon is $29.97 per CCC: https://camelcamelcamel.com/Light-Fire- ... B007BO9G1W

It did get down to $15 on Amazon for one glorious day in 2016. Who knows, that may have been when I bought mine. But at $21.74 shipped, this is a pretty good price if you're in the market for one.

A word about MassDrop. They have an unusual group buy model, securing lower prices by pooling purchase commitments during the duration of the drop. The price could conceivably go even lower if enough people commit, but I'm not sure how often that really happens. When the drop closes, the purchasers lock in at the lowest price and only then do the items ship.

By all accounts MassDrop is a legitimate and reliable way to buy, but you need to get your head around the idea that the item doesn't ship right away. Think of it as a Gearbest purchase, but for higher quality, mainstream products. Obviously, no affiliation with this company.

My only caution with MAssdrop. Is make sure you find independent reviews for products you don't already know are good. Their reviews aren't always real. So know your product before you buy. I bought some earbuds based on their outstanding customer reviews and they were crap. But stuff like this knife are good to go. They have good deals on items you know and love.

That's a great price. But for a few dollars more I'd stick with USGI metal. Just mho.

I use both. Plastics are good for short term storage or hauling small amounts of ammo to the range or to a campout

Actually they carry Apache brand Pelican cases for cheap. A step up.

Yes! The small ones go on sale for $10 bucks and I have had one out in the woods for 6 months without any issues.

Two ordered. One black, one red. Black one for a general "I need something to put this junk in" bag, the red one for emergency gear in the Jeep.
