What's that guys name on the right? I swear I was just watching him today. Thinking what a tool.
I think it's Tim Ralston, the guy from Doomsday Preppers who shot off part of his thumb. Here's the link to the Scavenger 6 website: http://scavenger6.com/
He also has another site that is beyond OMGAWEFUL.

Holy crap, my dad had this! We actually had it on hand during the 1994 Northridge earthquake and it was pretty damn useless, hahahaha.

Wow, blast from the past. Totally blocked it out.

I bought one of those knives back in '96. Was not aware they were still being made. No clue where it is now.

Lets not leave out the ladies and their hiking boots.

Yeah military phony. Claimed to be a para-rescuer to sell his shovel thing.

Was actually not. As soon as I saw him shoot his thumb off I called BS and forwarded him up the chain.

The guys I look to for survival advice tend to be more truthful and not cover their muzzle with their hands. I am picky like that.

How about those horrible 3-in-1, "survival" hatchets where one side is a hatchet, the other side is a hammer, the top is a pry bar, and the middle is a nail puller? Like this: http://a.co/d/5s9nLiT I have one in the garage somewhere that I received for Christmas years ago. Even as a kid I quickly determined that it was crap and just shoved it in the closet...

That is a Spetzgnats survival tool, as everyone knows that is Russian Special Forces. I carried one for years in my vehicle for protection before I lived in a state with CHL and legal car carry. I did try to use it as an axe once (fail), pry bar several times (not to bad), hammer several times (worked but you needed to be careful and not a good hammer.

Pretty much anything billed as "Special Forces" is going to be garbage.

That is more of a case of misuse of a useful item instead of a ridiculous useless item.
