Iunio Survival Shovel, 31" model

Post by Beowolf » Sat May 05, 2018 11:13 am

Purchased the Iunio Survival/Emergency Shovel from Amazon earlier this week for likely use with my BOB, though I may store it in the Jeep (or purchase another since it only cost $34).

Incoming series of pictures. No use reviews yet, but for what it is, it seems like it would absolutely get the job done, and at a much cheaper price point than the usual top ranked portable shovels. It has the spinning collar to secure and release the blade's position. It definitely feels like you could lean on it pretty hard without damage, and the modular options really expand functionality as far as I'm concerned. It comes in three different length options at purchase.

The way is shut. It was made by those who are Dead. And the Dead keep it. Until the time comes. The way is shut.

We expect a field review following your next mock bug out. :P

For those interested:

ETA: same company offers a more affordable model here: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01NBQXWA5/ ... ail_2?th=1 $29.99 but at the time of this posting there's a coupon check off box (to Amazon Prime members at least) that knocks off another $3. Principle differences appear to be 3" shorter, a serrated knife blade in place of the saw/fish scaler and the shovel blade is slightly narrower, lacks a pick and offers a few extras features (of questionable utility, likely at the expense of digging efficiency).

Beowolf: maybe this one for your BOB and the one you have now for your Jeep?
