Can you believe that? If your old enough to remember these. They were cheap and plentiful. And no one wanted them. They always shrunk to a size XXXS if you ever washed them. And you rarely got to wear them in the service. As it had to be proscribed dress for that day over a dress uniform.

These are larger sizes. But man I'd think you could find a cheaper wool sweater. Even surplus if that's your thing. Amazing.

There are all sorts of dealers who are so in love with their wares that they seem to price them extra high so that they never have to give them up. They always act insulted if you mention a lower price to be found elsewhere.

I prefer the guys that are out to achieve high volume and price things to move quickly.

$16 on eBay is a much better price http://www.ebay.com/itm/Decibel-Militar ... SwLF1X-E63

If you'd ever worn these uncomfortable, poorly designed, piece of dress uniform in the Marine Corps. You'd understand why it's so shocking. You literally couldn't give them away. $80 for one. Is like asking $1200 for your Mosin. "Cause it's an antique.".

$16 is more like it. Thank you for posting that.

If it is, and it has the original scope- a crappy and awkward as it is- it a steal at $1200.

While I wouldn't want to ditch my snugpac if I was back in Northern Germany these days, back in the early 80's they were about the warmest kit we could get.

For us it was a normal dress item if we where about the barricks (woolly pully + lightweights, DMS boots and putties).

Bit cheaper over here http://www.anchorsupplies.com/genuine-b ... umper.html

I routinely find 100% wool sweaters for +/- $6.00 at second hand stores. Sometimes they are surplus woolly pullys, but they're all great.
