I am curious about that helicopter.....Lots of allusions this season back to the first season, the latest being Rick's Choke hold's illegal, asshole comment. Wonder if there will be more to this helicopter sighting, or was it just supposed to be a throwback to the one Rick saw when he first rode into Atlanta....

Someone pointed out to me that Rick was driving a "CJ" version of the jeep vice Willys. My mistake.
And still I smile. :D

Great pic RickO. LOL

This is a bit of a stretch, but a reason that TWD is appealing to me this season is because there is an underlying question being made more transparent than ever before. Eugene, as the ultimate survivor, best seems to ask: If everything is wrong, who is better than myself to decide which is the lesser evil, or best course of action for myself? Another reason is because of the AI questions being posed to many schools of thought these days.

Eugene, of course, is human and therefore is highly influenced by human emotion, namely fear. But he also calls himself "Doctor," which I assume means PhD, and he expresses himself analytically better than any of the other characters. So, do I wonder about his higher intelligence and where it leads him and try to place AI in the same context and wonder where it leads itself? Yes. Then I try to remove all human emotion, like fear. And loyalty.

What then would be the drivers? Historical analysis? Statistical based predictions? Power supplies, location, numbers?

I assume that everyone who made the trip from Georgia to Virginia knows that Eugene lied about being a doctor. So it's kind of odd that he would announce himself as "Doctor Eugene Porter" to Father Gabe....then again, what about Eugene isn't odd?....unless maybe, just maybe, he was trying to subtly communicate to Gabe that he still wasn't what he appeared to be (a traitor).Image

I think it was some combo of "bic lighter as a survivor tool" and "Walking Dead reviews" that brought me here in the first place. Did people just get bored with the series? Admittedly, I find it a bit tedious with all of the commercials and cliff-hangers and prefer to watch a season or two at a time, but this fall I have watched each week and I am glad that it is about to end for the year. Assuming that a major player must end his or her run on the fall finale, how do you think it will turn out?

Maybe he's getting tired of Michonne?

They drink toxic junkyard water which makes them want to sculpt incessantly while nude, and say the opposite of what they mean in as few words as possible. Yes = No, Up = down, deal = no deal, none = pantyless. Seeexy baaaby!

We were screaming shoot the drone for a couple of minutes before it left the ground. Probably could have just grabbed it with the time it took for Dwight to cipher what to do. That's why they need Dr. E. But now they lost an MP3 player due to slow tactical reactions. Can't live in the PAW w/out an MP3 player you know. There's always something wasteful in each episode, mainly its killing walkers while on full auto.

But does it really take a Dr. to figure "expend lots of bullets = lots of dead walkers."? And if it turns out it had anything to do with choke points, still didn't need Eugene. Dr. Common Sense to the stairwell stat.

Dr. Common Sense to the stairwell stat.
As I watched that part , I couldn't help but think, " If that had been my stronghold, no mater how unbreachable the doors were. I would have put a hinge on the outside handrail of the stars so you could unhook one end and swing it across the steps at an angle so as the walkers came up the stairs they would be funneled right off the edge by the dead coming up behind them. Not like they could figure out not to fall off. Could have saved a lot of ammo "

I think Daryl is done. His arc has no where else to go and they sort of teased his demise with the conversation he had with Michonne in the trash truck. If that was the mid season finale he doesn't have the brick for the accelerator and just drives it all the way in.

Obviously the teaser on Talking Dead of a huge shocker in the mid finale could support a number of endings for main characters. Morgan would be the other strong bet with the need to move him to FTWD.

I haven't been watching since I ditched cable, but I've been reading articles here and there. I think that may be a bad move with the ratings issues. Who knows, I don't think he has the fan following like he used to, but I think after Glenn got the "bat", they may be nervous by offing a long time character. From what it sounds like, I wouldn't be surprised if Negan gets the ax/bat sooner than later.

On a side note, I think Eugene's character is the most consistent... always surviving no matter who he aligns himself with.

So the Saviors have bullet manufacturing capability, while all the Garbage people bring to the table is a fully functional photo processing lab? How has that group survived as long as they have?

Yes. I have same questions. Do they use their helicopter to trade with other junk collecting artists?

My real question is why did Rick try to be buddies with them, yet again? Go for the Amazon women who they stole guns from. Actually, that's a bad idea too...

The Garbage Pail Kids never made any sense....and I don't subscribe to the theory that they will eventually become "The Whisperers" from the comics.... but I've been wrong before.

Is Maggie an elephant? How long is that baby going to gestate? Judith is in preschool and Maggie isn't even showing.

Taking a quick look at the timeline, last night's midseason finale took place somewhere between day 610 and day 624. Maggie told Aaron she was pregnant on day 552 (when she and Aaron were in the sewer tunnel, about to go looking for her dumpster divin' husband)....not sure how far along she was at that point.

Goodbye Carl, No Star Fleet Academy for you.
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother

And compiled by some person(s) who have way too much time on their hands-

My favorite part of it was in the notes section-
Robert Kirkman has been intentionally vague as to when the comics occur in relation to real-life time and, by extension, when the show occurs as well. In the Letter Hacks column for issue 58, he says, "[The Walking Dead] is set in modern times...but the book started in 2003 and only a year has passed in the book. But that doesn't mean it's 2004 in the book...maybe it's 2009...who knows...who really cares? I don't want to be specific." The show follows a similar nature: There are no direct references to real-life time, and thus pinpointing when exactly the apocalypse began is difficult. However, there are some hints throughout the series that enable us to approximate a window in which the outbreak could have started.
