I thought the Day of the Dead remake was supposed to come out this year? Is it getting pushed back?

Went to go see Zombie Strippers this weekend. Not bad, doesn’t take itself very serious but at the same time it has the Key HORROR FEATURES. Robert Englund is involved so it has to be good. This is my favorite part:

I saw an article on the "Ace of Spades" blog about 3 new zombie movies coming out soon.
Zombie Movie Roundup (Mætenloch)
—Open Blog

The good news for all you zombie enthusiasts out there is that there are three upcoming and released z-flicks that look promising. Trailers are below the fold to avoid bogging down the main page.

Colin
This movie was a surprise hit at this years Cannes and is mainly known for two things: it’s told from the point of view of a zombie and its total budget was $72. I’m a little skeptical of the budget given – they claim their largest expense was a crowbar – but even if the budget was 100x larger, it would still be an impressive achievement. A single ‘Redacted’ could have financed dozens of 'Colin’s each with a far better chance of actually breaking even. From the trailer it looks decent with only few hints at its micro-budget.

Zombieland
Coming in October this movie is a zombie-buddy comedy (zombedy?) starring Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg which has been described as a Hollywood version of ‘Shaun of the Dead’. They play Columbus and Tallahassee who have found different ways to survive the zombie-apocalypse, but must somehow learn to work together. From the description I was hoping that it would be Pegg-Frost good, but based on the trailer it seems to consist mostly of 2 hours of funny ways to kill zombies. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Bill Murray makes a cameo appearance as a zombie. Could still be worth seeing.

Deadworld
This is coming out sometime next year and is based on a comic book series of the same name. It takes place four months after a zombie-apocalypse when the undead have taken over the earth. The main character is King Zombie, a Harley-riding corpse who holds a grudge against the surviving humans who made him an outcast.

George A Romeros "survival of the dead".

Surely we've seen all there is to see in a zombie movie. How many more angles can there be?

Zombieland looks to be a winner

I know I was beaten to this post (look up two postings), but consider this a bump for the movie.
There is a god, and s/he wants zombie movies produced on a semi-regular basis. (sends undead muse to directors across the globe...)

"I Sell the Dead" with some notable names looks like a winner. Not a zombie movie in the purest sense of the term, but involves zombieism, or at least appears to from this trailer:

Enjoy!

The only problem is that now that GW is no longer in office, the feeling in Hollyweird is less pessimistic, ergo, zombies are no longer the biggest threat. So I guess now well be seeing more movies about the dangers of fascist theocracies, can anyone see a sequel to "The Handmaids Tale"? (oh, wait, nobody watched the first movie either) 8)
