Army Tent vs Yurt, How Does the Off Grid Army Tent Do In Bad Weather?

Having the ability to set up shelter hand get you out of either the hot Sun or the cold snow and rain Is priority one at any off grid property. This army tent is a cheap and quick way to throw up durable shelter and allow you to stay warm and dry while you develop your retreat property.

That is quite the tent! I have a buddy that bought a surplus tent and ended up with a dry-rotted mess, but one of those newer vinyl ones would probably be a lot lower risk purchase.

Seems like that tent has several advantages over a canvas wall tent, the frame looked much stronger and more involved then the usual conduit frames, but it did seem pretty loose on the frame, I'd want a way to tension the roof much tighter. I don't know if staking out those guylines would accomplish that or not. Also the blackout capability would be nice to have, even if it means a darker tent in the day time.

Condensation is much worse in a vinyl tent like that then a canvas one, there are ways to deal with it but most of them involve dumping heat at the same time.

One of the YT commenters linked this site:

Looks like there are a lot of newer vinyl options then I realized, some at very good prices.
