I just couldn't watch it all the way through to the end last night. The opening helicopter scene lets us see the barrel of an AK rifle prop but apparently the Nazi goons have no standard weapons, having spent their budget on black helicopters. Who cares when the "dialog" is an endless loop of "Fuck! Shit! God Damn it! OMG!". The so called plot goes for tripe right off the bat with the lily white blond girl easily forgetting her BBQ'ed boyfriend and then she is immediately assaulted by two darker skinned local boys. Both main characters lose enough blood in the first ten minutes to be comatose but a quick bandaid and magic pills render them unstoppable. Human torches abound but flamethrowers are absent. The urban princess magically gets a pistol and can hit people, never having to reload. The same five actors are used over and over as the black clad invaders but we never see any really large groups appear, let alone with any semblance of military training. Noise resembling radio chatter is repeatedly heard but actual radio use is forgotten by the prop department. The brave neighborhood defenders all perform full auto drive-by shootings in their ratty little foreign cars.

This excuse for a movie is an endless assault of stupidity. I have seen far better thirty minute amateur short movies on YouTube.

This is so spot on!! I literally watched him keep his left arm across his chest as he gripped the pack strap to keep the pack from falling on the ground. All the while runnin' and gunnin' with a giant shard of glass blown through his leg.

Don't forget that he used a toxic road flare to heat the big knife used to cauterize his leg wound....... or that they are hiding from bad guys so igniting that flare while on a rooftop goes unnoticed by hordes of black helicopters.

(Fodder for more taunting, LOL)

How about those helicopters in Bushwick?

Old Hughies, Blackhawks, the fake Soviet helicopters from Red Dawn (see pix below), Cobras and in one scene a smokin' out-of-control black helicopter sure looks like Airwolf as it passes over the alley.

I really wanted one of the Hasidic Jews with the Flintlock Rifle to shoot down a black helicopter and scream out WOLVERINES!!

That is a sentence one does not often see in reviews. I'll try to add one for you.

Holy shit. I'm like 45 minutes in. I don't even care if Bautista was in the WWE. This is a good film.

I felt the same way. His acting is not bad. Funny they chose Janitor as his profession.

Watched it the other night, I loved it! You know it was low budget, you know there was some bad dialogue, but over all the shots were well planned and cinematography was great. I actually like the ending, it seemed realistic to me. It may have sucked because it wasn't happy go lucky everyone lived happily ever after.

The only thing I disliked about the ending...didnt even know it was happening until it went aerial view. Realistic ending, very true.

Spoiler alert.

OK. The dude and girl just killed like 5 bad guys with AK's and AR's. And didn't bend down to pick them up before leaving a building where they had killed all the bad guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me crazy when I see this in movies. They just ran out of the building with their pistols that appear to have endless rounds in them. I don't recall either of them changing mags and I'm one third in. Ugh.

I'm still captivated though. Check back after the movie.

All in all I thought it was an excellent little independant movie. It kept my attention. Even tho it was just an action film with little dialogue. I like that sort of thing.

Not to mention - more importantly - it's application here on ZS discussions. MAde me want to get a chest rig for sure. lol. If I had bug out in LA on foot where I live. I'd have little room for anything other than guns and ammo. First aid and some water. HIs pain pills helped a lot. Glad those are in my preps. Not sure I agreed with his fucking chrome pistol. Not very low key or camo. I would have liked to see him check his mag at least once.

He was definitely looking grey man. But should have been carrying a rifle. If nothing else one he pilfered.

But the whole thing made me realize. I can't wait to bug out on foot. I need to drive out. No matter what. Or find a boat with a lot of extra gas cans. I might even need some body armour.

So the movie made me think. In a prepper sort of way. I could see my neighborhood turning into something like that. Easily. Am I prepared for that? No. Which is why I'm moving to rural PNW. This place is crazy. Even without a full societal break down. lol.

Anyone else think about their preps watching this movie?

Sure! My preps are now going to be getting rid of all firearms: Bushwhacked taught me that a guy on a motorcycle holding a baseball bat could easily take out an armed Texan

Update and correction..... the bat-jousting New Yorker was on a quad, not a motorcycle when he single-handedly (literally) whacked the evil jackbooted black suited Texan. Now my preps will have to include a quad, LOL.

Fans of the movie will enjoy this behind-the-scenes amateur video.

Maybe the bat was autographed by Sonny Barger?
