Looks good, looking forward to more.
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother

A very nice start! You had me hooked at hypervigalent. You’ve got a good writing style with sparse descriptive text that is just exactly enough for us to effortlessly fill out the scenes with details.

OK. Ready for MOAR! :clap:

I like it and intend to follow along. The details about boating in the canals are great. Not a part of England I know much about but can relate to after several years of house boating experience.

Minor corrections needed only because they stuck out amidst all of the other good words.

he who’d stack --- he who’d stacked

Barge life is a primo backdrop for your tale. I’m enjoying the slang. I had to look up this one at M-W online;
tosspot noun
toss·pot | \ˈtȯs-ˌpät, ˈtäs-\
Definition of tosspot
: DRUNKARD, SOT
Examples of tosspot in a Sentence
a bar filled with the same old tosspots night after night
First Known Use of tosspot
1568, in the meaning defined above.

Thanks for the new chapter!

I like it! Teotwawki already covered the typos I saw...though I swear I saw a misspelled word too, but damned if I can find it now. Regardless,great start to a cool story.

I have no idea where this one is going either and the suspense is getting to me. Must be timefor MOAR!
