S&W M&P 9mm or 40S&W Shield

Post by ShaneP » Thu Apr 12, 2012 10:36 pm

Smith and Wesson introduced a new firearm today the M&P 9mm Shield...I have high hopes for this gun and plan on buying one as soon i see them on shelf...I have carried a kel-tec P11 everyday since Nov-9th Wisconsin past conceal carry and went into effect Nov 1st.I hate the Trigger pull also after the first 100 rounds of winchester white box i had to send it in to get repairs but at the time was all i could afford..I have shot the Ruger LC-9 its what my dad carries and its a nice gun but the grip to me id to thin...Smith and Wesson built this gun to be more like a 1.5 stack instead of a double or single to allow for a larger grip the shield comes with 2 magazines which most manufactures don't do on little guns Also instead of a pinky swell they just made it plus one so can either hold 7 or 8 depending on what you want...they already have manufactures on board and creating other sights for this gun as well as holster I hoping for night sights but so far only Hiv-viz type sights which you can check out at the link below http://www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore/Sm ... sories.pdf..Its a striker fired gun and they say trigger pull around 6.5lbs with an audible click for reset so no reason for need of Apex parts...Plus i think this will do well in my M&P collection as i already have an M&P 9mm Pro series and an M&P AR-15...

Shane, you need to work on your punctuation - it's very difficult to read those last posts.

If you're interested in the Shield 9, the Cabelas over in Richfield has them in stock. They run about $450. I really liked the one I tried out, particularly the trigger. I don't know why you went with a Keltec over a few of the other options out there - especially if you've already got an M&P set - but the Shield 9 is still pretty big for what it is.

It's smaller than my 39xx series with the same round count, but it's not like a Kahr either.

At the time I worked for TGSCOM or the gun source dot com. I got the kel-tec at cost for $200 dollars and purchased piror to the release of rugers LC-9.

I'll lock this thread since we have the link to the bigger one listed.
