Is it just me that's bothered by the "axe musket/shotgun"'s lock being on the wrong side of the weapon, compared to the close-up shown in the inset photo? Just thought I'd ask.

Isn't it most likely that the photo simply/inadvertently got flipped during the photo editing process? :?

do you think it exist a functional replica of that one ? it would be gorgeous.
IMO, a more practical design should have the blade going up, so that use of the axe head would put forces on the barrel into the stock, not lifting the barrel off the stock.

blah blah "sight picture" it's a facking axe gun. It's stupid no matter how we look at it, but why sacrifice a functional firearm for a half assed axe?
It looks like an 18th century boarding axe. They're not sacrificing a functional firearm for a half assed axe...they added an axe to a one shot weapon that they would never have had time to reload.
I've seen quite a few where the axe/hatchet head was on the grip of a flintlock pistol. Shoot, then hold by the barrel and use like a tomahawk.

For when your bayonet-on-a-handgun is just too smart-looking.

Ya learn something new every day on ZS. KS-23 slugs:

Image

Apparently, images of the KS-23 are hard to find, so here's one I hadn't seen reposted a lot in Google image search.

Image

An actual 4-gauge shell with 12-gau for scale, not sure if it's a KS-23 round, but it's the best side-by-side I found.

I'll be in my bunk.
