Midland Backpack 12ga Folding Shotgun.

So we've discussed these a few times. Just saws them on sale for $139. Not bad for a folding shotgun that fits in your backpack. I don't recall how well built they are.

Midland GMBP1218: The Midland Backpack line of single-shot firearms has been designed and built for young, active shooters who want a gun they can target shoot, plink, hunt, camp and hike with. Unlike similar firearms made from inferior materials and cheap finishes, all Midland Backpacks are made from forged steel receivers and deep-hole drilled barrels.

Those look interesting to me. I recently picked up a Hatfield 20 gauge folding shotgun that I like quite a bit. I paid $99 at Wal-Mart for it.

Won't most break action shotguns disassemble very easily?
Shot 'em, now I'm gonna hang 'em, then I'm gonna burn 'em!

I can't speak for most, but my H&R Lil' Pardner (now a hair over 30 years old...somewhat depressingly) requires one screw.

Somewhat amusingly, though, if you remove the "spacer" behind the wooden forearm it becomes a reasonably creditable toolless takedown. I've occasionally wondered if a decent system could be fabricobbled, like a cam lever that retracts something into the forearm to allow takedown.
