So this thread seems to be more about the basics of what to look for in a carbine. I was talking to a friend and decided to break down gun fighting into a set of basic skills you can drill. I think these apply to pistols as well. I'd be interested in whether anyone feels these could be combined, whether they should be broken down further, or whether I"m missing any.

The fundamental skills one can/should drill are (no particular order):

Present/shoot.

Move/shoot.

Corner/shoot.

Change Position/shoot.

Communicate/shoot.

flashlight/lowlight/shoot.

Transition weapon/shoot.

Load/shoot.

Anything to add? Anything to change? Thanks for insights!

Missing the most important one.

Shoot/ No shoot
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother
