What is this forum section for?

Post by PistolPete » Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:44 pm

ZS has a wide variety of members. Many of them are firearm owners, some are experts and some don't own firearms at all. This forum section is for people who are novice shooters. Maybe you own a gun but you don't know a lot about it. Maybe you're considering purchasing a firearm as part of overall preparation gear. If you think that having 3 months of food and your ham license is important, and maybe you should pick up that single barrel shotgun to defend your home and family in case of lawlessness, this is the place to ask your question or make suggestions.

What is this forum not for?

Elitism for one. This isn't the place to post "Unless you have the newest niftiest battle rifle you're completely unprepared". Please don't do that.

This also isn't the place to discuss tactical gear or training. This isn't the place to discuss reloading under fire, squad formations or NFA weapons.

This forum is intended as a friendly place to for the less knowledgeable among us to ask basic questions and share experiences regarding firearms as they related to being prepared for a disaster, emergency or worse.

BTW, because this section has less posts, there are more posts that are older here. Don't post a "OMFG NECRO! LOL", every time a thread that is a year or three old is replied to. You realize, if you viewing necro-ing as an offense, you've just became part of the problem. If you don't view it as an offense, then there is nothing to say. :)

There are some decent topic here that are worthy of continued discussion, even if they aren't currently active.
