I do not have a link, but will find it later, a MSM article was stating that Remington was on it's last legs, due to the fact people were not buying firearms.
I guess they are, although just not from Remington.

Gun sales have been down this year. One day doesn't make up for a year of sluggish sales.
For black rifle Friday I bought ammo. No guns this year.

I think there is a thread on it on her already... But yes, gun sales are slow, but companies are still making decent business. Garbage Remington, though... Not so much...raptor wrote:I do not have a link, but will find it later, a MSM article was stating that Remington was on it's last legs, due to the fact people were not buying firearms.

Not only are overall sales down, but it seems it is such a buyers market that everyone has gutted their margins to compete. Even if you are selling a ton of guns you might not be making any money. there have been quite a few factory rebates from various makers trying to get attention.

Re: Maybe we should start calling it "Black Rifle Friday"
I was tempted to buy a new firearm, but instead bought a bunch of bits and pieces to finish up most of my in-progress work:
- Scope, barrel and BCG for the Aereus Rex .308 AR-10 build
- Red dot and mount for the 300BLK upper on the “James” build
- Handguard (1.8” id to clear the Bowers big bore can) and port door for 3rd upper (450BM) on the Grau Spéir build
- Trigger and pins for my G21
Will document as the parts get here and are installed (already done for the G21). Also ordered up a war belt, harness and pouches (med, dump and 3x dual mag shingle) for my son to use at the week-long training course we’re doing over Spring Break next year. Those will be Christmas presents though.
