I bought three boxes of different birdshot as part of troubleshooting my shotgun (I suspect it has nothing to do with the ammo and instead I have to take the bolt apart and clean it more thoroughly, but I was already in town). Also 100 rounds of subsonic .22 lr, a Vortex 3x magnifier and a new cleaning kit as all my cleaning supplies are scattered across three houses

3000 5.56, 1000 10mm, and 500 .308 boolits. Finally found some places that are getting stock back. Still can’t find bulk 9mm.
Nice on the 5.56...I can’t find anything less than $0.40/rd that’s not steel case so I just can’t bring myself to buy any. 10mm is one of the calibers that’s always on the shelf here in my AO...may have to build a 10mm “upper” for my G21. Can usually find .308 too, even if it’s just the spendy match grade stuff.

Seriously thinking about picking up something in .243 or .270 since that too is always on the shelves here, even with everything else gone.

Edit: or by bullets do you mean just the projectiles for reloading?
I remember back during the 2012 panic near the start of it all when the shelves were only 80% empty I heard someone complaining "all they got is .38 and 10mm" and I chuckled to myself because my handgun was in 10mm. I wasn't laughing for long, because while 10mm was one of the last handgun cartridges to sell out it was also one of the last ones to become available again. I would guess that it was more profitable for the manufacturers to keep making the more common handgun cartridges as they were selling out so fast. It was about two years before I could buy any 10mm. (Of course that might not be how things go where you live, I think Alaska is relatively bad when it comes to people panic buying and there is probably a higher than average number of 10mm shooters up here.)

Just happened to be driving by an Academy Sports and popped in on a whim. Scored 3x100-rd boxes of 55gr .223 Remington (limit of three boxes), 2x50-rd boxes of 230gr. FMJ .45ACP, and 2x50-rd boxes of .380ACP. This was on Friday afternoon and shockingly, there were still a few boxes of each remaining even after I grabbed mine.

Pretty much normal prices too: $0.27/rd for the .223, $0.33/rd for the .45, and $0.44/rd for the .380 ammo. All steel cased Monarch brand, but hey, good for the range and keeps me from dipping into my stores for at least one more range session.

That stuff is about $0.90 per round by me if you can find it.

It was 12.99 for a box of 20. So $.65 a round. The store owner says he bought it in bulk a while back so it may be a couple years old. It is FMJ so I plan on just using it for range ammo unless the ZPAW actually happens.

DVOR has the Leupold VX-3i scopes starting at $320 with free shipping, which is the best price I've seen in a while. I've got one of the 2.5-8x36 models and it's just about perfect for my use. Now I have a second one on the way, which means I get to play musical optics- where I put the new scope on my best rifle that doesn't have something that nice and other guns get the hand-me-downs until I end up with a Nikon or something that doesn't have a home.

Three more surplus mags for my BM59. I'd only had two and wanted more but my only source in the past wanted $70 ea. for them. Then I found one with a mag pouch for $40 and bought it a few months back. Went looking today and it's like everyone is stocking them, even Gun Mag Warehouse, and at $40 or less. Caught a 3 @ $29.99 deal on Classic Firearms and snatched it. If I had another $100 to spare I'd grab three more.

Three 20 round boxes of 7.62x39 from my LGS. For as long as I can remember it was $5.25 a box. Then $6.25 a box a few months ago.

Yesterday it was $7.65 a box. I had to ask for it, because it was out back and not priced yet. They brought out a case, and all they had was Wolf. They usually have at least three brands.

No 12 gauge buckshot in stock.

All self defense calibers are churning since March, as well as 7.62 and 5.56.

Their used long gun selection is steady and varied, but based on how quickly pistols were wiped out, and how my ammo of choice has been steadily increasing, I left with a pit in my stomach.

Silver lining: other ammo is getting ignored. There was a ton of 7.62x54, some Greek surplus 8mm, and a couple of WW2 era bandoliers stuffed with loaded M1 Garand en bloc clips. Haven't seen those in ages.

Even though I don't have a platform in those calibers, it made me smile. Shopping at this place is like going antiquing.

Finally took advantage of Hornady’s “get loaded” promotion for 2020 and picked up a couple more die sets to get some more “free” bullets.

Bought a couple Zach holsters from Dale Fricke for my Glocks. Will be using these in conjunction with the Hill People gear chest pack. Trial run/fittings have been good so far.
