“I like it that order exists somewhere even if it shatters near me.”
~ Elizabeth Moon, The Speed of Dark

President awards Medals of Valor to 13 police officers.

Bad guys get all the air time it seems. The thousands of men and women that preserve order daily rarely get a pat on the back from the media it seems and even the highest honor is placed after the story about an infamous handgun auction. The absurd, ridiculous and shocking have overcome our sense of value so that we live in a pulp fiction.

Most cops don't want the press unless they are running for office. Anonymity makes for better OPSEC.

Since you speak for most cops I will speak for myself and just say that I applaud these people and the many who choose to not be recognized.
