In the late 70s, my parents had a secondary gig selling stuff they should not...They were out one night and a group of people came to liberate those items from my parents. They did not expect a 3rd grader (me) to hide my brother (3 or 4) and welcome them with a 12 gauge...no one every taught this to me, but having been hunting and shooting for some time, was just the reaction I had.

To this day, I can be dead asleep, nearly 40 years later, and you cannot enter my home at night without it waking me up. Kids waking up to pee or get a drink does nothing...but open an outside door or window and I am up. Freaks my wife out a bit...

I'm not even joking a little bit. Enough is enough.

Yeah, let's maybe keep the discussion of booby-traps and the like off the forums, please. Yes, I consider murder holes in a modern home to be a type of booby trap, something unexpected that is installed to do others harm.

If you want to build stuff like that, good for you, I just don't want us going down that rabbit hole here, please.

So... like a firearm or even a club? Unexpected that is.

"A booby trap is a device or setup that is intended to kill, harm or surprise a person, unknowingly triggered by the presence or actions of the victim. As the word trap implies, they often have some form of bait designed to lure the victim towards it."
since the other one seems to be umm verbotim

If you want to include firearms and baseball bats in your definition of booby traps, you're welcome to. I don't. Regardless, discussing booby traps is not acceptable on these forums, we are very clear about that any time it comes up.

A murder hole is in no way, shape, or form a booby-trap. If you try to count a murder hole a booby-trap then you may as well a "No Trespassing : Trespassers will be shot" sign as a booby trap.

A Murder hole is simply a place designed so that person or persons entering an area is/are at the complete and utter mercy of the person controlling the area.

No booby traps. Just utter control of an entry point.

Please. A mod has asked that we not discuss murder holes in this thread. I ask that you respect this request.

You are welcome to PM the mods to discuss this topic further, bit the topic is not acceptable in the forum.

Thank you.
