Why so many AR manufacturers fail to properly stake their carriers baffles me. I mean, it's hardly a labor or cost intensive operation. The shop I work at just had a Bushie come through for gunsmithing. The rifle was experiencing cycle issues. The culprit was a loose carrier key that was never prop...

Another Silp2000 customer

I buy it by the gallon

It also dissolves the salts from corrosive primers so you can skip the water/windex step

Their other products are great (degreaser/carbon cutter/etc)

The big question is...... How far are you going? Is water available on your route? If so, them MH is very light but requires hot water (ideally) I lean towards lightweight foods that do not require cooking I also don't think you need a lot of calories for a three day hike Unless you overburden yours...

For reliability , make sure your rifle has a true 5.56 nato chamber (which does not simply mean that it says so on the barrel  )

Then shoot whatever you like

They know at least the basics....but they don't get all wrapped up in the minutiae...which I think flows the best Are you saying you do not know the basics????? For clarification....for those that write well but have...

IMHO

The only way you are going to need your warranty AND be required to show what ammo you were using is if you get a serious overpressure round that trashes the weapon

In that event, you are going after the ammo maker....not DPMS

So it seems like kind of a non-issue

I generally find authors fall into one of three camps 1. They know little or nothing about weapons, but they forge on anyway You see references to flipping off the safety on their revolver...stuff like that 2. They know a bit....but they are so stuck in their rut that the weapons choice for their ch...

Great article in this month's SWAT on back up guns

I completely agree with Mr. Ahern that unless you are carrying a true mouse gun (seecamp size) then you might as well carry a 9mm

But the neat thing about weapons is everyone can buy/carry what they want

Always use the Glock 9...it is ceramic so it is invisible in metal detectors and xray
