Re: $449 AR15 Pistol (and probably SBR after a tax stamp)

if they make a model with no threaded muzzle, this would be a viable pistol for sale in NJ with it's assault pistol ban. it's under the weight restriction, and could use 10 and 15 round mags.

Re: Tools that are Cheap and Easy to Get Now, and Handy When

A good file or two. with a good file, you can make a saw, sharpen something into an axe or a blade, cut bars slowly, copy keys (with a rat-tail), notch arrow heads, fix blunted blades of all sorts. it's a tool to make other tools with.

the saiga, because I can load a 5 round magazine fast enough to matter....not discounting all the other benefits .308 brings to the table, like barrier penetration, range, AP, big enough for hunting game, etc. you have fast long range firepower, but not as\accurate as the available bolt gun, lighter...

no readily available surplus .300 BLK ammo, so you'd be stuck with what you could pack out while bugging out. A lot of horror stories concerning AR10 reliability, no commonly interchangeable mags or spare parts....but .308 rocks. break down and get a $1000 PTR91. But am I going to get the same accu...

the odds are higher for finding one of the most popular hunting and surplus service rounds in the US if you do come across a place selling, a person trading, or a store selling.resupply possibilities, post or during your preferred disaster type.

Re: looking for input, Aimpoint PRO or Vortex red dot

I have two Vortex strikefire RDS's ( on an AR15 and on my sp89), . battery life is okay, they're shock/ recoil resistant and cheap enough that you wont care when you drop them. they come with a doubler / magnifier that works well, but narrows your field of view down to nothing ( screws into the rear...

Gout kicke...

I think your original list is a fair paring down of what you have. personally, i'd trade or sell the bottom half off and invest in spares for the top list...maybe get another AR as a spare parts rifle

you need to look at your locking piece, the back of your bolt, is there a rubber pad buffer in your new stock or just a plastic plate? did it function prior to stock addition? I had a c93 rifle that did the same thing. it had a 53? locking piece in it from the factory, and not a 93 locking piece. on...

shot placement...not a joke. was the bear skull capable of deflecting shallow angle shots? were 5.45 rounds incapable of shattering the shoulder? hollowpoint or ball ammo? not enough chest penetration to strike vitals?
