The only thing I heard is to put up things that flash (leds, old metal pie tins that are hung up with wire and sway in the wind, strips of cloth hanging) and are always in motion. I don't know if that works but a local farmer told me about it. The hawks ate all the chickens before I could try anyth...

One of my biggest concerns when i travel to Mexico is a terrorist attack. In any event of that magnitude, all border crossings are closed, in which case any Americans in Mexico are cut off. No bueno. I think a detailed map of the area is a good idea, but a compass and GPS isn't wholeheartidly necess...

Yup, i'm gonna go grab an inflatable raft and i'll be all set :)

I live about 30 minutes from the Gulf coast and to be brutally honest, I don't have any contingency for Flooding or Tsunamis.

When i went cold turkey on mtn dew, i replaced every urge to drink one with a 48 Oz glass of water, i had very few headaches and more or less an improved feeling each day... it got easier to wake up in the morning, i was less drowsy. Surely i pissed 5x more than i used to but it was better for me.

Never mess with an ER nurse... They know exactly what they are doing. They don't panic. And they have a very realistic view of life and death. Come to think of it, thats a rather creepy reality... They probably know where to shoot better than an inexperienced cop if they wanted to put someone down,...

I will have to dispute that Ghostface, the handgun has the greatest utility for day to day use. It should also be the first gun to buy for home defense. The handgun is the tool of choice to investigate the odd noise in the middle of the night. Hear something downstairs you need to check out, grab t...

I was at my friends house last night and a possum or a rat about the size of a 48oz cup came out of the bottom of his house and walked under his truck... Moral of the story is that if i had a .22 and needed to eat, i probably would have been a million times better off than with a shotgun.

I was stabbed pretty badly in the thigh. Sounds like you cut your aorta. Unless his heart was by some anamoly of nature located in his thigh, probably not. Also, if he stabbed his aorta, bleeding would be only one of a dozen other fatal problems he'd have. You might have meant his femoral artery, w...

It's a correct assumption given that you have the ability to survive yourself... Keep in mind how much shopping and drinking you do during the winter, and your need for food... If you can't survive, who cares if they do?
