Re: What would you do? Zombie outbreak edition

If there is a zombie outbreak nationwide, I'll probably stick around because there is sure to be a lot of overtime available at work and quite frankly, there may suddenly be some openings in management. Gotta climb that ladder. Besides, I don't want to deal with the psychopaths that decide to run to...

Re: Closest Call

I was on a Suzuki 650 stopped by a flagger in a construction zone. The road was straight as an arrow and normally posted as 50mph but speed was reduced due to construction. I had just asked the flagger how far the construction went when she started jumping around waving her Stop sign. Everything sud...

Re: Exhausting night trying to be a Good Samaritan.

I'm onboard with being a good samaritan for sure, however, regarding letting anyone borrow your phone, don't do it. I will offer to make the call for them, (*67 first to block caller ID) but I do not hand over my phone to anyone for the same reason I wouldn't hand someone my wallet if they needed to...

Re: 140 million Americans Affected by Deep Freeze

It was 25 degree's in Jacksonville Florida today, and my house got down to 54 inside. I almost had to turn on the heat and I did put on socks and pajama pants. It was horrible. Get your laughs in now sucka. You'll get your turn in the barrel come Hurricane Season. It hasn't been terrible in Seattle...

Re: Stranded in your car in extreme winter?

An important point about running your car for heat in a blizzard, be sure you keep the exhaust pipe clear of piled snow and place a flag high on your antenna. A blocked exhaust can introduce fumes to the cab or kill the engine and a flag helps mark the vehicle for snowplows or other drivers. It's al...

Re: You just lost your Bug Out Bag

I have had two stolen.

One from my truck and one from my house.

How pissed was I? If I had caught the thief in either case I would have killed him.

I still keep an eye out for those bags on craigslist and in pawn shops, this was two years ago.

Re: HOPELESS

What do you mean by "Preparedness" ? Do you want you everyone in your family to wear 5.11 cargo pants , go shopping for survival gear with you, or watch the news constantly and worry about ever possible bad scenario that can happen? What exactly do you want or expect? Here is a question for you abo...

Re: A Road Incident. (Poll)

Making friends with the locals is always good if you can spare the guac. They might be more likely to give you a head's up if Deacon McNasty and his crew of baddies start heading our way. This is what it boils down to for me anyhow largely because of the assumption that we here will always be in ch...

Re: A Road Incident. (Poll)

No raiders in the area and a group of able bodied folks milling about? I dunno what might have been at the other end of the road but nature says safety in numbers. I might start looking for a place to set up camp. If these folks are actually able to help get the vehicle righted then I'd be glad to h...

I'd take a walk with my kid, and pick some effing lemons. If the pole smoker wanted to rumble, he'd better bring his A game.

Re: zombie quiz

If I've made it a week with nothing but a crowbar and a pointy stick, then a quick jog to visit my cousin isn't going to be an issue.
