I've tried a few others, but I keep going back to the Spyderco Persistence that I've carried for the better part of seven years now.

A 9mm Beretta Px4 Storm. It would also be fun to have one of those Henry .45-70 lever guns.

Re: So, how are you keeping your pants up when carrying?

FWIW, I'm not exactly svelte and I carry OWB with a Spec Ops Better Than BDU belt. I've never, ever, had an issue with the belt coming loose on its own. When I had a couple pairs of jeans that would not stay up because they were made for people with no butt, I used a pair of Perry suspenders that ho...

I have friends in Goliad. They lost power a couple hours ago. Last I heard from them, they were having Vienna sausages, Cabernet, and homemade ice cream by candlelight.

It's the area of the hurricane that surrounds the eye, where the storm is most destructive. Here's a video of a plane flying through one:

And now there are reports of collapsed structures with people inside in Rockport. Rescuers can't get to them. Information from Reddit's live hurricane thread.

Re: Firearms Chat 4: #pewpewlife

It looks like the next pistol I buy will be a 9mm Beretta Px4 Storm. Is there any reason not to? I'd like to know whether I'm going to make a mistake. (Disclaimer: it could be months before I get around to actually buying it.) Which one? Full size. MPMalloy: what does PCC mean? RickOShea: Thanks fo...

Re: SAS sniper takes out ISIS sniper 1.5 miles away

Because the ISIS guy was a "sniper" I doubted he was moving around while sniping. Sure enough, the story said: "Just as the light was beginning to fade the (ISIS) gunman moved into what he thought was a safe location and lifted his rifle up into his shoulder before the SAS (sniper) shot him dead." ...

I know squat about being a sniper. Three seconds is a long time. How can a sniper be sure that the person they're aiming at won't move?

That being said, Towanda, I am interested in those caffeinated mints. Looks like the Penguin brand has 3 mints equaling the caffeine of a 12 oz soda? How well do they work compared to other sources of caffeine and do they seem to make you shaky? I've never experienced any shakiness and they work pr...

Coffee. Irish Breakfast tea. Caffeinated mints (I like Penguin). In a pinch, weather permitting, I could dig up and toast, grind, and brew some dandelion roots.

It's been a week. I have survived, and felt no ill effects. I'm going to say that Seventh Generation cleaning wipes are safe to use on dishes and eating utensils, as long as you're not allergic or sensitive to anything in them. Where can you get them? One an unrelated note: Is that you in your avat...
