Re: Alpenflage clothing dye job?

don't bother, that fabric is some of the worst I've ever seen in surplus. It is a loose, thick weave which is both hot and not very windproof, as well as soaking up water like a sponge and taking forever to dry. The cut and features on them is about as bad as it gets as well, cannot say enough bad ...

Re: Alpenflage clothing dye job?

Sportsman's Guide has some good deals on more new/modern Flecktarn style camo. Kinda like what appenflage would be if you died it. I'm probably gonna get some for hunting season next year Ya. But I'd bet my last dollar - none that fit me. LOL! I'm 6'3". SG never has anything (let alone surplus in g...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Is it just me or do we never hear about gun battles with a positive outcome? Everyday they publicize shootings that are negative. But never any shootings where the good guy comes out on top. I have theories. But I don't want to sound like a whack a do. You need to visit the NRA website. They don't ...

Alpenflage clothing dye job?

I'd post a pic but this forum makes it to difficult. Wish we could donate to a better software. Anyway... Wondering if you could dye this cheap Alpenflage material. I wonder what it would turn out like if you dyed it with say olive drab RIT dye? https://majorsurplus.com/catalog/product/view/id/8910/...

Re: Vietcong sandals.

Have they recycled all the old not steel belted tires? In the US? Aren't trailer tires non steel belted ? On a tangent. When this thread started I immediately thought of huaraches sandals (which I had a pair I bought in TJ back in the seventies ). Upon searching for a site that had instructions on ...

Vietcong sandals.

Not really bug out related. Well sort of. I thought these homemade sandals showed some real ingenuity. I've heard about these. But never seen a close up pic of a pair. Looks like they would last forever. Easy to make. I'm sure someone has posted a how to make these someplace. https://www.ima-usa.com...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

If it's for AK hunting. I'd consider the VEPR and Galil over the AR. Although the only issues I've read about the AR and cold. Is you have to choose the right lubricant. A VEPR or Galil is going to run no matter what. But if you can get an AR down in weight and use the right lube. That might be the...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

The main annoyance is that the AR-10 family isn't near as standardized as the AR-15. Can you expand on that? Claude ham mercy....that's a can of worms. One of the biggest is the differences in receiver styles/shapes. A lot of brands fall into two main styles: Armalite or DPMS. An Armalite-style upp...

Re: So, how are you keeping your pants up when carrying?

These are the best CC belts made. I've read a ton of reviews. And many many ccw's use this belt to carry. It also comes completely customized by yourself. Even down to how many extra stitch lengths run the length of the belt. That determines stiffness. Length and width is also customizable. And the...

Headlamps?

My old headlamp only runs 11 hours on low with an AA battery. I was tripping around the sales at The Cymb. And found this: https://www.theclymb.com/Product.aspx?l=00290559248600000000&p=BKD02255&s=00000 It's a discontinued headlamp from Black Diamond. And the price is right at $16. Anyone talk me ou...
