Re: The New & Improved, "What have you done to your AR today" thread

The ambi safety I'm kinda on the fence about. I'm right-handed and so is my wife, but we do have southpaw friends and it is nice to be able to see the status of the safety easily no matter which side is up when it's on the shooting bench. Unfortunately, in the fire position it rubs on my trigger fi...

I'll take pics tonight. A little Dremel work might help but removes the phosphate coating.

Re: Seattle: The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone

I think the news is being very selectively fed to us, and the general trend towards reading one set of views seems to be growing. I think we all need to be keeping our heads up and looking around or we will be blindsided by issues which are not being reported. I'm not totally sure how to do that ri...

Re: Seattle: The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone

Went uo to check things out yesterday, the area is completely off limits, cops are not allowing anyone in without ID, you don’t live there you are not allowed to even walk on the streets. In fact cops will escort you to and from your building outside the exclusionary zones While up there a group of...

The New & Improved, "What have you done to your AR today" thread

So I got some parts in the mail today and just got two of them installed. The first is an ambi safety selector and the second was a set of anti-walk roll pins. The roll pins probably would have been fine as I've not noticed any inclination for them to walk so far but I want this build to be as bulle...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I was just watching the new Paul Harrel video and realized that laptop manufacturers are missing out on a good market for bullet-resistant laptops. I'll bet a kevlar cored polycarbonate case instead of current case materials might offer significant protection inside a bookbag filled with other items...

... http://i.imgur.com/UzGLkEKl.jpg It'll be interesting to see if they work. The neighbor is in his late 30s and said it was in his grandfather's house when they cleaned it out after he passed. Could be reloads, could be original. Do you reload? Shoot 'em at the range, enjoy and reuse the brass .....

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

I didn't actually buy it but a neighbor who was moving asked if I could dispose of some old ammo for them. When I said yes they gifted me a cardboard box filled with about 100 rounds of 30-06 softpoints from the 1940s through 1960s  (pics removed) It'll be interesting to see if they work. So...

I’ll probably get banned but.... nothing i posted was untrue, merely laid out in an unpleasant manner.
If we banned people for being unpleasant at times this place would be a ghost town.

I have never lent an automobile to a hooker. :)

I have lent my bicycle to one on several occasions though.

(she always gave me her purse to hold, with more than enough cash in it to cover the $50 the bike cost me if she didn't come back - we were friends)

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I had a really dumb thought flash through my brain a minute ago. Y'all know the Magnum Research BFR revolvers, right ? I wonder if anyone has ever thought to have one chambered in something like 7.62x39. Now this probably wouldn't work considering the 7.62x39 is kind of tapered and all of the chamb...

Places that prohibit the otherwise legal carrying of arms should be required, by law, to provide secure storage for visitor's weapons. If I decide to bicycle to the post office to check my PO box I shouldn't have to leave my legally carried pistol home for lack of an automobile to secure it in. Req...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

Bottom line takeaway from all this? It's best if you don't live near any political figure or celebrity because one day you might find yourself sitting on the edge of "ground zero" of a mob's attention. If you do find yourself sitting there, don't make yourself a secondary target. Let "sit down, shu...

I present to you the ultimate in manual cutting systems: the Kukrax . Do you like the cutting power and utility of kukris? The simplicity of purpose of an ax? Just put the two in a room, add a bit of bow-chicka-wow-wow, and you end up with this beaut: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/...

Re: Atlanta Walkout

Of note, it seems that Minnesota has a castle doctrine for the home, but not businesses or other such; outside of the home they have a duty to retreat. If they're reducing the police force, I wonder if that will end up changing. Given the guy that wishes he'd given his car keys to a mugger, I'm not...
