I just picked up so 1200 Rounds .22LR

I happened to be in a local outfitter and noticed a guy walk out with some and it has been hard to find in my area so I figured why not.
Welcome! Can never have too much .22LR!

Re: Are we moving headlong into a Malthusian Event?

I just read this article today and pictured the scenarios I have read in books or seen in movies and read about in this forum. http://io9.com/how-rats-turned-their-private-paradise-into-a-terrifyin-1687584457 I would like to hear some of your opinions and what would the resilience of the human race...

Re: Portable power solutions thread.

Awesome post! My main solar rig (other than the two 50-watt panels on my man-cave) is a Goal Zero Nomad (I had two, but gave one to my dad, so I do need to re-up/expand my portable solar set-up. I prefer the modular/tiered approach, so, with that, I have a larger power get-up that is for Vehicle Bug...

Spent some tax money... -Case of 64 Datrex Emergency Drinking Water (exp. was only a few months off the 5 year mark, so not bad...good for the next 4 years 9 months). Not bad for $22! -Another small SOL Emergency/FAK Kit -A neat Esbit stove/cook kit thingy...Tied it out, works awesome! http://i219.p...

Re: 72 hours

Neat little brain game...I'll start... Here is the scenario. You get advanced warning that things will hit the fan in 72 hours. You are one of maybe 100-200 people that knows. The power grid is going to be taken down across the entire country. Let's say for at least 30-60 days. Potential wrol. Defin...

No "bubble" here...picked up 5ea. 50 round boxes of lead tip for $2.30 a box. Not the cheapest it's been, but buy-able for the next "freak-out"...

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Rebuilt my Vehicle FAK and Vehicle basics Survival Kit (NOTE: the Vehicle SK is the small stuff (i.e. besides shovel, axe, jumpers, tow-strap, etc.), and is also designed to supplement a B.O./Get Home Bag...basically, just extras... Any ways, got some really neat containers and decided to use these ...

Re: Canceling a prepping idea for being too crazy

I have cancelled many. I have also overspent on practical ideas that were sensible making them wasteful expenditures. For instance a large diesel generator for my home which has been used for the intended purpose very rarely in 15 years. A generator make sense. A 30 kw diesel generator in own gener...

Alright, slowly implementing the recommendations, as I saw fit, and just wanted to say thanks for all the inputs! Anyways, think I'm at a "happy place" with my BOB...still some minor tweaking, but leaps and bounds above where it started. Anyways, got everything sealed up and removed the bigger/heavi...

Re: Critique the Family BOB!

Forgot I had some of these French MRE stoves laying around...given the light weight and minimum size, I think I'll add these as individual cookers for the adult bobs, until I can get my hand s on a few more ESBITs. I still plan on getting a beefier cooking system for my BOB, but I do keep one in the...

Re: ramen- not the emergency food of choice

I share the same sentiment as most (on here anyways). I prefer to eat based off a paleo diet (non-GMO/natural fed) veggies/fruits/meats, try to avoid processed foods where possible...BUT, with that, when you're in a survival situation, you don't need to eat healthy, you need to eat right. Show me an...

Re: Critique the Family BOB!

Who needs 550 cord when you have all that wiring. My only suggestion is less beeps, boops and batteries... and more practicality, survivability and bushcrafty. As stated, the larger kits are vehicle based BO only...I (anybody) would be stupid to Bug-out in real scenario and leave a kit like that at...

Alright, here's some updates to my tweaking... First, I got a food-sealer vacuum thingy today and some quart bags. Going to grab some gallon bags next payday and protect some of the bigger stuff...
