need some stuff....

Brothers and Sisters! I need some Airway equipment for an class outside the USA. I need an adult LMA, a size 7.0 or 7.5 ET tube, a Bugge (spelling) and a Combi-Tube. None of this stuff has to be sterile but I need it in good condition. If any is out of date, that's no problem. I'm not gonna use it f...

Re: Get Home Bag

I just had one in Ukraine, Moab, you should have seen the price on the thing. I couldn't have afforded it if I had to buy it and if I did have the money, would have instead spent it on ammo or food......not what I thought it would be though, the performance wasn't there... Not as warm with the bitin...

Re: Just crossed the contact line...

PART II -- FUEL is a problem also in this cut off Oblast. People are only allowed 10 liters when fuel is even available at all. There are several days in a row in which there is no fuel. The roads are all blasted to hell or falling apart. Matter of fact, the societal infrastructure is shot. I think ...

Re: Just crossed the contact line...

Part I .............Alright, in the area I was in, the entire Oblast or state has been cutoff by a "Contact Line" or battle-line between government forces and the separatists...... ALMOST A YEAR AGO...... Very little crosses the Contact Line. There is some smuggling though. The thickness of the Con...

Re: Please help me with my EDC FAK

OK, keep the scissors if you like them. The finger splints? I can tell you what I know from my experience? Finger injuries can be serious and usually require surgery. The old "pulling the finger" to reposition it is a NO GO!!!! Fingers should be splinted with each other meaning a healthy finger with...

Re: Please help me with my EDC FAK

Nice pack! Can I have it? :awesome: ...............You got double duty there and don't need it. Toss the scissors. Toss the little SAM splints and put a dedicated chest seal in there? I'd say? You can make the little SAM splints by just cutting your XL SAM with the rescue hook.......

Re: Contact paper = chest seal?

Good question, good job thinking outside the box dude. The only things i'd be concerned about would be the adhesive on the contact paper, as the adhesive on the Bolin and some of the other seals is what's called "Hydo Seal" and meant to stick under heavy water (blood) contact. I'd be concerned about...

Re: Need some Freq. help.

Roscoe, thanks for the input. I have experience with the DeLorme, the InReach and they ACTUALLY don't tell you a lot about their coverage unless you really push. They have a lot of holes. Some are in Africa and a lot in SE Asia. I have a Sat Phone. Again, not the best option. We have official comms,...

Re: Good place to buy gauze?

AS556, sounds like a good list. I'd be happy with that list for everyone's personal oh-shit kit. Next though, try to replace those petroleum gauze 4X4's with real chest seals. Try the HALO, there are two seals in the package and it even comes in an "XL" version. You usually don't want to get anythin...

I don't need to catch much, just need to transmit out if I need to. I don't know a thing about comms except what I learned in the Army. That consists of DONT TALK ON THE RADIO OR YOU WILL BE FOUND AND KILLED......what do I have? I have an FT60 and another cheap dual band. I'm here because I don't kn...

Thanks brian, yes, two-meter. Are there any other freqs you'd recommend? Most frequencies are monitored by everyone's SIGINT/ELINT, but It'd be a call for help to any of the good guys. Thanks man.

Re: Veti-gel

It is best to learn and always count on your skills. I think your taking hemostatics out of context. It's pretty common. Imagine if your on a supply run. There is contact with bad guys and your injured. You need to stop major bleeding but keep mobile (if you don't understand why or agree, that's ok,...

I'm headed to the border of Ukraine and Russia and I'm packing a small handi-talkie. I need some advice on some frequencies. What was the one that everyone monitors, 133.something-something-something ?

Never seen it before and no vets that I know are working with it. I don't see why you couldn't use it on humans. Hell, I can't tell you how many times I've used either animal meds on humans, or the other way around.

Re: HELP RE: Mojo 410 Assault Medical Backpack (aka LBT-0996

They are Bristo-Jet loops, except I wouldn't put a Bristo-Jet in there, especially if your gonna throw the bag over a fence or sit on it in the back of a dark vehicle. Bristo-Jet's are prefilled glass syringes. They usually contain cardiac meds, but i have seen them in many different type meds over ...
