This is just great, makes me wish I had kids. A very good read and thanks for sharing. The pic under the power lines is my fave.

Re: Fallout 4......

My vote goes to FO3 solely due to the strength of the Capitol wasteland. My biggest problem with 3 was the lack of iron site aiming. InB4 "they make a mod for that." I too am not at all thrilled by the Xbox One. But some of my buddies are in total nerdgasm euphoria so I think it may come down to bei...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Yeah even the host of the show was bummed that they didn't let Chattanooga guy finish. He probably had a real good comment/question. I think that if he hadn't sounded so creepy they wouldn't have cut him off. The heavy breathing did him in!

Re: Minor Head Wound

It sounds like you might be trying to remind everyone of the importance of keeping your shots up to date. I'm due for a few myself so thanks for jogging my memory. Do you have any more to share on how you got your injury? It might be valuable to help others avoid a similar situation.

Re: Far Cry 3 anyone....

The Tanto is just awesome. By far my favorite weapon. It does heaps more damage than the machete. So many times I've shoulda been dead from Komodos or tigers and frantic slashing got me out of it.

Re: Breaking News: Mass shooting at CT Elementary School

By allowing firearms into schools we place uncertainty in the mind of the would be shooter. He might rethink his target if he thought there was a chance that someone could stop him before he started. Should teachers and administrators be required to be trained and carry? IMO, no. Should the have th...

I ended up getting a medium...it's a pretty snug fit for the patrol bag + bivy. I think you made the right choice with a large for both bags.

Well my first thought is that if I had been driving by at 40mph like some of those cars were, I'd have nailed him head on with the civic. What d'yall think the repercussions from an act like that might be?

Re: 13 things (and more) a burglar won't tell you

OK, this is funny. A newspaper in Leeds published an apology letter that an underaged burglar was made to write as part of his sentence. The whole idea is just hysterical to me - I can't imagine caring in the least whether the guy who robbed me says "sorry" or not. Of what value is a forced apology...

Re: Camo Stencils

I've seen ACU show through one coat of krylon. I would hit all the big pieces with a base coat of tan, then add additional colors as needed. I don't think you need stencils, I like tiger stripes personally. But using laundry bags looks cooler.

My preference is inherently with kifaru, I'm in too deep to back out now  Look at their koala lite, but if you're looking to go cheaper than the examples in the OP, don't bother.

Re: Prepared bags for homeless

I really like this idea. I recently saw some figures on the amount of homeless vets, and the percentage of those who were 11bangbangs. This is a great idea for someone who has the means to spend 20$ a day helping people. However, I would echo the suggestions of caution.

Re: A Cape Scenario 2: A Crowded Street, Broad Daylight

I'm of two minds here, the accuracy of the cops was atrocious. But, the killer was killed without any lengthy trial to cost tax payers money. Not sure how anyone can prove that it was luck alone that stopped bystanders from getting killed. All I've heard of was through and throughs and ricochets off...

Re: Body Armor

Well, regardless, i could never afford dragon skin. When it originally went down, the argument that the DOD rigged the tests due to the cost of armoring every soldier with it seemed pretty convincing. I wasn't aware it failed independent testing, out of curiosity, I'll do more research.

Re: Body Armor

That is funny. Things have gone seriously weird down under. As the others have said, Dragonskin has some issues. The biggest thing I got out of the tests was the fact that the "glue" they used to hold the plates in place tended to melt and fail in hot weather. Meaning there was very little holding ...

The grunt inside of me really wants a battle belt set up. But what is the role these things play? I could imagine one for range gear, but as bug out gear :?: What's the difference between wearing a chest rig? I don't own one so I can only guess, more low profile? This stuff doesn't that look low-pro...

Not sure if this counts as negative, but certainly annoying. I have this conversation 2-3 times a week. Friend: "Hey Armchair, can I borrow [duct tape/superglue/knife/lighter/etc]?" Me: "Why don't you have one? You're always borrowing mine" Friend: "Because you always have it" :vmad: Stop providing...
