Re: Firearms Chat.....Sans catchy title

Thanks for being the one to say it, Lee .

Wolverine looks like he needs some prune juice in that pic.

Waiting on a quote from Orion for two SBR engravings. Has anybody used Indent for engraving their SBRs?

Re: All purpose NFA questions thread

Finally finished up my trust paperwork. I'm going to re-read this entire thread tonight. Beat the dead horse questions: Can one still get away with listing "multi" under caliber on a Form 1? Or do you have to list a specific caliber? (5.56 in this case) Box 4a of a Form 1 asks for original manufact...

Re: Firearms Chat.....Sans catchy title

Sweet. I think I'm going to SBR one of my extra lowers that's collecting dust and declare it with a 10.5" 5.56 barrel.

Re: Firearms Chat.....Sans catchy title

Excellent. Thanks. I've read so much mixed info on the reliability of 5.56 short barrels. Good to know a combo that works.

Gingerbread Mahn,

What barrel are you running on your 10.5? You said they run like tops. What buffer, etc. are you using for that good reliability?

10-8 and Browning 35, thanks for those links. Are the pictures you guys posted of your actual rifles, and did you purchase the ring that holds the flashlight separate from the mount itself? Also, for Browning 35, it seems like having the longer flashlight pushed forward away from the attachment poi...

I've never tried making mine own. I was never a fan of walnut media due to the stains and the mess it makes. I like corncob better.

Speaking of the Ares sling. Got my mock dizzy set up except for the sling. Im wondering how best to mount the sling up front with a flashlight in the way. Was thinking one of the H&K hooks to hook it to the front sling mount under the sight post. It has Magpul MOE front handguard. http://i378.photo...

Man, three pages and yet nobody can explain to me how everybody in their mother is gonna see a rectangular $30 softcase and immediately peg it as a rifle case. It's almost like the need to go out of one's way to disguise a rifle case is complete bullshit. My non firearm loving or knowledgeable mom ...

Re: Firearms Chat.....Sans catchy title

Ok, firearms chat. Need some input from those in the know. After a year or two of research/internal debate/etc, I think I'm finally about ready to put a sling on my 870. A little background: This is a hunting shotgun, for deer (slug only zone), ducks, grouse, etc. It is NOT a tactical setup, and ne...

Also, came across this Hall of Fame thread that Dave wrote about setting up your LBE. I figured it should be mentioned in the early stages of this thread.

Yes. We can't wear any of the "woods" colors or camo patterned gear. Can't look like the local sheriff's office .

Black, navy, or grey is what we can choose from. Not a fan of black.

That $899 complete rifle with an Aimpoint optic offer they just had up was mighty tempting too.

Yeah, I thought that was your pistol undead. I thought they had your permission. I probably wouldn't have made a deal of it if he wasn't lying to his customers saying he had built and coated it. Anybody have two (preferably nib) foliage green 30 round pmags they'd be willing to sell? I can't seem to find any. I can trade 2 nib Gen 3 black 30s if that's preferred instead of cash.

Re: All purpose NFA questions thread

I'll probably engrave my G20 on the frame somehow, as that's the actual gun. You could probably engrave the newer Glocks that come with serials on the frame, slide, and barrel on any one of those three areas though, but I don't feel like being a test case. Very little Google info on Glock engraving ...
