Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

Rick, thanks for that info. It helped a lot. This will help me to know what I'm looking at should I pick one up at the gun show next week. I'm liking some of the Mega matched receiver sets, but I recall reading some negative press on here about their customer service or something. Needs mo researchez.

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I was looking at the Mega. I like it because it accepts parts for most of the different AR-10 styles.

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

So, AR-10 lowers. What style do I want to leave in a drawer for a rainy day? I don't know the parts availability and reliability of each of the different types. Do I want a DPMS LR-308, SR25, or Armalite style lower? Did I miss any others? Edit: Evidently CMMG makes an AR-10 lower that takes G3 mags...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

Thanks for the tips on the Arisaka. I'll see if I can't get some pictures from him soon. One more question, unrelated: I'm writing an argumentative research paper about concealed carry for one of my classes, can anyone think of some good online sources where I could get info for that? I'm basically...

I have some Don Hume holsters, all are doing great after years of use. Buy with confidence. Did I just admit I'm not operator grade? Re: Tactical Nylon/Gear Chat

Hadji,

Do you have any more pictures of your Cobra 2.5 backpack than just the ones on your webpage?

If I wanted a one off Cobra 2.5 in grey, is that possible?

Thanks!

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I wonder what a 34 cut down to take 26 mags would look like. Hmm. Re-dic-a-lous. There's a pic out there of a cut down Gen2 G17 to a 26 and honestly would not want. I don't mind the look of chopping down a size, but when you go two sizes it gets a little odd... Now a G34 to a G19 grip and you're ge...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I own both the 19 and the 29SF. Both are awesome guns. The SF makes the gun compared to the non-SF. It's really a big improvement. I reload 10mm to 10% of max. So, yeah, almost full house 10mm loads. The recoil is heavier than a 9mm but not uncontrollable. Pearce grips are 100% the way to go. The 2...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

The 29 recoil is only a bit stiff if you're using full power ammo and no pinky rest. It's more of a push than a flip. I carry my 29 every day, and shoot it every week. It is definitely "bigger" than the 26. Thicker is a better word than bigger. It's not too heavy to carry, even with a light. Big adv...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

Edited my above post to include two links containing form letters and a good explanation of the proposed changes. Even if you don't give a shit about NFA stuff, comment anyway. The ATF can change any non-regulated item into an NFA item by passing a rule. This has happened before with GSG MP5 .22 rep...

Everybody please take a minute and write a serious letter or comment on the proposed NFA changes. The comment period is open until Dec. 8th. If you're thinking about purchasing NFA items, now is the time to get the ball rolling. Please send this link to your friends- http://www.regulations.gov/#!doc...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I wouldn't use any kind of oil as case lube. Oil in the powder or on the primer can cause them not to ignite or partially ignite. Aren't primers like $.40 or $.50 a piece for 50 BMG?? If you must go the cheap route,... not sure why you would on case lube and with 50 bmg, then use soap. A bit of dis...

Re: BATFE eForms - A Good Thing?

I've submitted 3 form 1s with Eforms over the last 2 weeks. The system is very finicky. 2 of my 3 stamps went pending after a day or two. They email you updates, including changes to the status of your stamps and when the website goes down and comes back up. I had to use Firefox one week to make it ...

Anybody know where I could buy some bulk 9mm 147g Gold Dot bullets? Is anyone here reloading .50BMG? Edit: The only .50 gear I've ordered so far are the Lee Die set and a shell holder. I still need: 1. Neck sizing die- RCBS seems to make a nice one. 2. Case length gauge- Recommend one? 3. Tool to sw...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I did some more armchair "research". Umarex (airsoft) bought out Walther a few years ago, and while it's also a German company, the fact that the Umarex Walthers that come out of the Cologne factory all tend to have Zamak slides, while Walthers that come out of the Ulm factory all tend to have $600...
