I think he only helped because 1. Otis shot the boy and 2. Rick was in his sheriff uniform when he showed up. He wants them gone asap because 1. After taking in Carl, about 10 other people showed up to make themselves at home, 2. People he doesn't even know or hasn't met yet are bangin' his daughter...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

I looked over my comments on last week's episode, and yeah, they were on the negative side. I do really like the series (I never read the comics). But I hope they take advantage of the tremendous potential that this series has. I have seen too many shows that had a really great concept and got off ...

Re: Murphy's Shack

I don't know Morse code, and neither does Jessica Alba, so to us its some annoying guy in the bushes playing with his flashlight. I'm not inviting him up to my shack anyways, never know what trouble he's in, bitten, chased by raiders, etc. If it was important I would think the bugger would just walk...

Re: Comments for "Because it's not a virus, you moron!"

I support you and the idea of a groupwrite, but I am saddened that zs contributors are not usually predisposed to sustain a thread like this for long. If you have a story you want to share, they are very supportive and sometimes "micro-fanbases" can develop, but on average they don't really engage ...

Re: First test of National Alert System

I also heard a radio spot telling everyone to ignore it no matter what it says.... isnt that what most people do anyway? anytime ive been around a radio (at work or out and a bout) when one of the weekly/monthly tests or even a real alert about a thunderstorm, it seems most people just turn the rad...

^^^^absolutely.

The simple fact that you might have unscrewed a panel and maybe not replaced perfectly in its factory position, you get pulled over, the officer takes notice, now your car is getting torn apart on the side of the road.

I can't find it online, but my FLDMV guide says that "hidden, secret, or "smuggler's" compartments not originally included in the design of the motor vehicle or watercraft" are illegal. I'm just pissed that one was canceled to begin with  :( One...wasn't that show about two guys who were framed for some terrorist incident, and are trying to escape the city and track down some mystery guy? That was a good show. ZS needs to form a Hollywood chapter, do some charity consulting f...

Re: Why do they cancel all the awesome T.V. shows?

Walking Dead? The show that got a second season like a day after the pilot for season 1? The show that got a third season after one or two episodes of season 2? That Walking Dead? I think it's going to be ok for awhile. AMC cut the budget horribly for the second season, and forced the season to be ...

Geez, I guess I'm sitting pretty on this hill in Hawaii then :D No RR tracks, no gas leaks, no floods or landslides on this street, no volcanoes or tornadoes, no tsunamis (at least where I am), slight chance of earthquakes or hurricanes, decent chance of power outages during storms but I got my genn...

Re: The BOB is dead!

IMO, I think the B.O.B. Is based on the governments recommendation that emergency services might take about 72 hours to stabilize an affected area...and we can pretty much prove that isn't nearly close to realistic. Now its being recommended, if I read correctly elsewhere, 96 hours is the minimum. ...

Re: What I am realistically preparing for:

Hi there Xale D. I can see from a governmental standpoint, in a macro view of things, that there is going to be some sort of "acceptable casualty rate" in any disaster scenario. Let's say its, 10%. I'd further suspect, that the "sit tight" policy is govt solution to enable the most number of emerge...

Re: The BOB is dead!

With all the discussion on "gray man tactics" I thought we could tear down another one of our famous canons, the B.O.B. This thread has been around for a while so I figured we could bring a new light to it, to see how our prepping strategies have evolved. I for one will admit that at one point the B...

Re: What I am realistically preparing for:

Agreed. In any event that battle lines and trenches are being dug, and the US military is being deployed, it is definitely time to bug the fuck out. On the other hand, what all of these riots have shown us, IMO, is not only how violent people can become, but also the speed at which the violence can ...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

When Andrea used the screwdriver on the zombie in the RV, red blood splashed everywhere. But when Rick and Daryl gutted the one in the woods, all the innards were black. Could that have been a decomposing thing between an "older" zombie and a "newer" one? That's just another writer f-up :D Probably...

Watts Riots 1965 LA Riots 1992 (the worst riot in US history) I don't think that is exactly true. Found this... In 1921, America witnessed the worst example of racial violence in history. When a white female elevator operator claimed that a black man has sexually assaulted her in the elevator, viol...
