Very nice! Might have to try and track one of these down one day. That looks awesome.

Re: Anyone else getting a Tavor?

The Tavor is on my short list of weapons to buy, and is the only one in 5.56. I'll probably hold out until at least the fall, but it's still something I'd like to pick up.

Finally finished my HD 870 build. All I need to do now is put the sling back on it, but for HD, I figured it wasn't necessary.

Re: What have you SOLD since the CT shootings?

Finally decided to put up a few of my extra SCAR 17S mags for sale. Within 45 min, all four had been spoken for. Still looking for somebody to trade more SCAR mags for German DAG though.

Cool. Glad to hear you got your gun, and your dog didn't get shot. Cool 1919, I for one didn't know they made them in 7.62x54R. Of course, you are now obligated, according to the rules of the internet, to post up pictures when you've got it fully equipped and running.

Re: Uptick in Fire Arm Purchases

For pistol ammo, I can't seem to find FMJ in much of anything other than 10mm Auto, .45ACP (weirdly) and .45LC, but there's defensive loads aplenty still available. When FMJ pistol ammo does show up, it's gone in hours. Depends on your area. From what I've seen, FMJ ammo in 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP ...

Re: 2013 Resolutions - To Do List

Since I met most of my resolutions/plans for 2012, I guess I'm safe in planning ahead to 2013. 1. Ammo Preps: I'd like to finish the cans I'm working on now, and up each rifle to at least 5,000 rounds, and 1,000 for the pistols and rifles. I'm pretty close on most of those, so this shouldn't take lo...

Re: 62 grain OTMRP

This is the BVAC reloaded version of Mk318 Mod 0 SOST. The Mk318 is probably one of the best 5.56 rounds out there today, ranking up there with Hornady's 75gr TAP FPD, and Black Hills' Mk262. Unfortunately, it's very pricey, at least compared to other "mil-spec" rounds like M193 and M855. The Federa...

Re: Essential ZPAW calibers???

For the OP: You've already listed my five calibers of choice (5.56, 7.62x51, 12 gauge, .45ACP, and .40S&W). I honestly wouldn't add any more ammo to that list unless you really like a weapon that doesn't fire any of the above cartridges, or you already own one. For me, the odd ball calibers I have a...

Re: Uptick in Fire Arm Purchases

At the local Wal-Mart, virtually every box of defensive ammo is gone, with a few exceptions. .44Mag and .45Colt have boxes of good defensive ammo, and there was a box or two of Privi Partizan .40 JHP, but I wouldn't consider that quality defensive ammo. Other than that, everything from .380 on up is...

Re: Ordered some body armor.

Considering you can get ceramic plates on Ebay for about that price, I don't see a reason for the extra weight. Vests aren't all that expensive, especially if you start with a cheap one, and then save your pennies for a quality one that will last.

The fourth one was a prequel set in the Old West. I actually like it a lot more than #3.

Re: How do you bug out your extra weapons and ammo?

The better option in a Red Dawn scenario is to cache the other weapons and ammo in place as safely as possible, and return for them when you have manpower and time. ^--- This. Take your best weapons, or the ones most suited to your current situation, and try to come back for the rest when possible....

Re: How many rifle mags for BOB? Full size AK or SBR?

Fighting kit and BOB are separate for me two. In most cases, I wouldn't use them both at the same time. Typically, I've packed heavy on ammo for my BOB, with 4 AR/SCAR L mags and 4 SCAR H mags, along with 2 1911 mags and a single Jericho mag. Since PCSing back to KS, my situation and possible bug ou...

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m275/Alpha-17/Real%20Steel/2012-12-09_08-04-10_916.jpg Picked this up this weekend. Put slightly less than 100 round through it, not a bad gun at all. Way too early to gauge reliability, but the makings are there for a very good gun. Thus far it has fit in every 1...
