Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!
What watch are you rocking these days? Looks like you went from a Timex Expedition Easy Set Alarm to a Citizen Promaster. Can't ID that model in the latest set of thumbnails. The Timex Expedition Shock Resistant model above gets worn the most often I'm legally blind now, so it's the one I can still...

Re: Long time wannabe from Las Vegas.
Welcome to Zombie Squad. Excellent first post. Sounds like you're on the beginnings of your preparedness journey. Although in some ways it also seems like you're further along than many who first recognize the wisdom of prepping. Agree with woodsghost it's helpful to articulate (at least to yourself...

Oh, do tell. What specific bourbon did you get? A bottle of Blanton's (I’m down to my last one plus a finger or two of another), One of Eagle Rare, and one or two Weller 12...might be able to get me an EH Taylor as well. Well fixed on everything else, just running low on my preferred Bourbon and go...

Some booze? Traded a few hundred rounds of 300BLK and 9mm to a friend in exchange for a couple bottles of some Bourbon I’ve had trouble finding for awhile. He’s also gonna take some of my reloading supplies I haven’t had time to work through and roll us both some more 300BLK. Oh, do tell. Wha...

Re: Newb Hello From Midwest
Welcome to Zombie Squad. I think you might be surprised how many people here are in your age bracket. Ah, the "realistic" BOB. I bet the author of almost every article on the subject insists that's the exact premise behind the guidance they provide. Yet you see BOBs with no less than 6 knives, and 1...

Re: Could Doomsday Bunkers Become the New Norm?
I don't know about shelters but having my own park like land to walk around on when all the parks, restaurants and entertainment venues were closed has been priceless. There is no replacement for breathing room. If I had to sit in my storm shelter all day I would be depressed. Can't argue with you ...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)
If we look at some recent elections.... I think based on current events we are launching into uncharted territory here. If some people are unhappy enough we could end up with open insurrection that will make Minneapolis look tame. Yep. My greatest fear this November is a close election. Which side ...

Re: Do you like old guns but are interested in an AR?
While I am not a huge fan of the AR platform, I do appreciate beauty of craftsmanship. As I approach that fabled milestone, my better half has already committed to a Turnbull TAR10 for my 40th birthday. Fine wood and case hardened receiver - well worth a Google giggle. I'm still not quite capable o...

Swiss Safe First Aid Kit Pouch (64-Piece) 3-Pack $13 shipped. Woot.com, fulfilled by Amazon. Today only (6/20)' Yeah I know; a shitty little IFAK. But at this price, they're practically worth it just for the pouch, CPR mask and basic first aid instructions. These would make a great foundation for a ...

Re: Do you like old guns but are interested in an AR?
I know a couple people who built semi-auto side-chargers for hunting. Their reasoning: <snip> ....charge the gun, then bump the knob forward to make sure the bolt is fully in battery.....seems legit. https://i.postimg.cc/YqZctqmt/locomotive.gif So, a second forward assist, then? Seriously tho...

I think they're gorgeous, but I'm not understanding that second (reciprocating?) charging handle on the left side of the chromed upper receiver.

Re: Seattle: The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone
Serious Question: If an autonomous zone is declared, and the city does not contest it or even cedes the territory, would any crimes committed within the zone, while under control of Zone Rulers, fall under city, state, or federal jurisdictions? Would any actions normally considered "crimes" even be...

well you have a lot of editing to do to maintain your politics free safe space. This site is full of politics including a mega thread on the coming civil war. How is that not massively political?. I’ve seen good adult conversation shut down because of this maladministered rule and i’m over it. How ...

ZS is a prepping site. Our goal, our only goal, is keeping people alive and healthy when the normal world takes a sudden swing sideways. We deal with prepping for that to happen and dealing with it after it does, regardless of the cause. It does not matter what flag, banner, skin, or faith a threat...
