Re: so, what does one use as currency in TEOTWAWKI?

Unless I already have a surplus of all the shit I need I don't see myself taking silver for my goods. I would have to trust I could trade it with someone else to get the things I need. In this scenario I'd just prefer to trade for those things to begin with.

No machine on the planet can replicate good customer service. Tell that to Amazon's super automated ordering system. Experiences vary but that stuff has been practically flawless for years. I get what I order in super fast time from the big vendors at a better price than going to the store and buyi...

Re: What if Earth faced Certain Doom? Could we leave?

In a nutshell, we really don't have a good, solid, verifiable reason why a body retains an atmosphere or not. Which is something we need to keep in mind when discussing things like terraforming, or even how planets work. We really don't know. We do have some pretty good ideas, but we require even m...

[quote="Ad'lan"]How vital is a magnetosphere for at atmosphere in the short term? How quickly does it get stripped away? Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

I would personally not risk a firearm that has value to fire off what is about .30 cents of ammo that is in questionable condition. Might it work yes. Might it fail yes again. But why risk something you could sell or trade for 3 rounds in very questionable condition. If it were me I would pull the ...

I'm more interested in the EU nations actually mustering up the gumption to do anything concrete. It is quite literally their backyard.

From what I read nothing in the study said that society would collapse now, or even decades from now. This is still a relatively young society. It is also not unavoidable.

The G7 have decided to not invite Putin to future meetings, a sanction Canada has been pushing for for quite a while now. I'm just saying they'll have a problem selling it once they claim it. You'd need to get permission to put in a driveway and utilities since it sounds like it is surrounded by other peoples properties. I would notify whomever he owes taxes to that he plans on selling it, because that will ruin whatev...

While I respect your outlook on the wild life aspect, I also perpetuate individual liberty. I don't think he should pay taxes on it, and I also think he should be able to do what he want with it, within the law. I do also, however, think he should look at it the way you are, and leave it the natura...
