Re: Firearms Chat 4: #pewpewlife

I saw the sigbrace thing yesterday and I have been contemplating trying one to see if I like it or not. I may just have to get one try it and if I like it put one on all three of the AR pistols I have. Honestly, I haven't tried the "second gen" SB braces, but I prefer my Blade to Gen 1 SB braces. I...

Re: Where can I buy Lidocaine online?

I'm afraid to ask, but why do you want a local injectable anesthetic? The only time I've ever seen it used was minor surgery and dental work. Even then, Lidocaine (from my experience with dental work) requires careful application; you can't just stick someone and expect it to work, it requires a fa...

Gah I don't NEED one, but goddamn do I want to pick up one of those $250 Shields PSA has up right now. I know they're skookum, I know I need a CCW I'll actually carry, but but but...

Re: Firearms Chat 4: #pewpewlife

At this point the plan is acetone for the trigger pack, replace the stock, then Tech Sights and sling and call it good. Which model Archangel are we talking? Last I checked they had 3 or 4 different 10/22 stock kits. To be honest I'm currently debating picking up a factory stock stripped receiver fr...

Re: Firearms Chat 4: #pewpewlife

Welp I accidentally a 10/22. This thing is rough. Like extra holes in the receiver and spray foam in the stock and trigger pack rough. How much did you pay for the gun ? $50 including background check, which was $10. It has no sights either, just empty dovetails. Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

Well- now we are back into kidney prices, but thanks for setting me straight (party pooper!) ETA: Congress really needs to repeal the Hughes Amendment, but I seriously doubt that will ever happen. (Is that too political?) Franklin Armory has binary trigger systems for HK I believe if you wan...

Re: Need suggestions for a storage case

Realize this may not be an option due to logistics, but second hard surplus cases/Peliclones seem to pop up fairly often in my AO - at substantially lower prices than Pelicans. Grab a few of those, spray them whatever color you want and you might be GTG.

Re: Caliber Consolidation vs Caliber Diversity

Personally, I like to think I take kind of a measured approach. I've consolidated within my "Actual ZPAW" choices based off of availability and economy of platforms, commonality of parts, availability and price of ammo to 5.56 and 9mm. Then I still have reasonable stores for guns I know are far from...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

So, minor issues with firearms (& swords) in movies, TV, ETC greatly annoy me. But I saw something new the other day, which both irritated and mystified me. Have any of you EVER, in real life, seen someone carry their sidearm like this? I realize this is from a animated piece (Ghost in the Shell, 19...

For a quick brew and melt enough to refill the thermos - SVEA 123. Came here specifically to tout my Svea. I've had 2 over the years, a 123 and a 123R. The 123 was given away to a friend who didn't have a stove, but my 123R has been absolutely bomb proof. And it's that bomb-proofy-ness that has kep...

I will admit that they do seem to have the smallest possible firearm that actually functions. If I had to smuggle a firearm into a North Korean prison to rescue my top-secret witness, the NAA is the one most likely to fit inside one's anatomy. I would want to shave that hammer down a bit. A real Ti...

Re: Moist avoidance, or keeping boots dry in the field.

I'll try the quadruple sock changing, foot powder. I already keep flip flops in my pack and use them at night (sometimes bring highly breathable trail running shoes, but they have not water resistance whatsoever). Anything more uh, reusable than paper and cardboard for drying? They're stiff enough t...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

I've always wondered about the real world value of magnifiers on single dot optics like the TRS25. Especially with all the 1-4x and 1-6x in the sub $400 range scopes nowadays with illuminated reticles and true 1x. On something like the ACSS reticle red dots or other BDC reticle 1X I can see the poin...

Moist avoidance, or keeping boots dry in the field.

So I have a question that seems rarely, if ever, addressed here and elsewhere: How the hell do people keep boots well and truly dry in the field? I've got a boot dryer and my everyday 8" NB boots live there when not on my feet, which is lovely. Thing is, I occasionally wear them for more or less 3 d...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

I have two seperate, but equally important lists. These are their stories: Realistic gunnage: Easily available to civilians, fulfill a need/hole in preps. Generally below a grand. NODs are on this list. Holy Grails: This includes such delights as a non-neutered, papered PPSH-41 and Special-K M45, a ...

Any place that has individually packed wet naps, grab a few. Great multi purpose cleaner, safe for skin. Also snag alcohol wipes from eye doctor, regular doctor. A few Mexican joints in my ao offer packets of Tapatio. While not my favorite hot sauce, I always grab a few of these too. In the same vei...

So it's a long, long way down the gunnage list, but the new Ruger 8 shot 357 is incredibly sexy. I do wish it came in 4 and 6 inch barrels though, 357 out of a 2.75 sounds loud and inefficient. Not to mention it probably hurts like hell. Actually, from what I've read (only seen one independent revi...

I'm throwing in a vote for the Police Truncheon . Cold Steel is making a version of it & I kinda dig it. interestingly primative versions of the truncheon are flat like a paddle. Which would probably do a bit more damage. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTcNaVOC7EMxRhGSpPTQIGoN...
