Re: Interesting weather in AL, 3-2-12

Hope all is well. I'm realy surprised there hasn't been more traffic on ZS about this tornado outbreak. Hope anyone living in the effected area is ok.

My local shop mentioned that they are expecting the same thing. I'm buying a little extra ammo each week in the hopes of stocking a bit more then usual.

About the Sp101 .22... Think of it this way, its built on a .357 mag frame, and a fairly tough one for it's size at that. If you're going to run the hell out of a .22 you could do worse then one thats based off that design.

Re: My Parafin/ Cardboard Hobo-Survival Stove

I'm actually in the process of making a stove kinda like this. I'm using a crushed pineapple can for the buddy fuel (slightly bigger then a tuna can), and two or three chunk chicken cans (I think they were 12.5oz size). My plan is to make it a multi-fuel stove... idealy it would use two of the chick...

I shoot at the Smith and Wesson shooting center right near the plant. They don't have one of these in yet as of my last trip, but when they do I'll be sure to try it out.

I actually stopped watching this after the first episode... I checked this thread to see if it had improved, and as it turns out, It sounds like it got WORSE... Now, I imagine Son's of Guns was actually good for buisness, I wonder if this will have the opposite effect.

I checked a few places online, and it looks like they should run in the $500 range once they start making it to dealers. I'm betting they are going to be HARD to keep in stock at that price.

Yugo SKS for $199, plus they are running $20 off an order of $150 or more... so thats $180 for a sks... not bad. They wont ship any to the CT store, so I'm out of luck.

Re: New Sp101... about time!

I think they will street for 500ish online, more local. Honestly, for a good quality stainless revolver, with adjustable rear and fiberoptic front sight... Plus what look like nice wood inserts, thats reasonable (to me).

I am biased however, I'm a big fan of the 3" sp101

Nice... stupid question, but with a 13" barrel, you need an SBR stamp, correct?

Edit: Just saw you're in Canadia, NM hehe

New Sp101... about time!

I can't be the only one who missed this... Ruger re-released the sp101 in .22LR.

Am I the only one who thinks its sexy?
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/0 ... -revolver/

Turns out I don't own a .22 revolver... wonder how long until it's MA approved.

Re: The Fool's Firepower Folly

SKS are now too expensive for what you get, and a Mosin, is quite frankly and old surplus rifle that is worth the $90 you paid for it. Get an AK. You can start with a Saiga x39 for $350. and convert it when you have the money. Even as it sits, it's better than an SKS IMO. In the end, yes, I see the...

Re: The Fool's Firepower Folly

Something else to think about is the addtional cost of magazines for any rifle that uses them. You need to consider that in the purchase price. (I don't know what AK mags go for in most states) Thats one area where the SKS is nice for someone who really is strapped for cash but wants a good solid ri...

Great pistol! As someone who started out with revolvers, I have to say snap-caps and (safe) dry-fire are you're friend! Used smith revolvers usually have smooth double action (but heavy and long like all DA revolver pulls) and nice crisp single action pulls. I had the opposite problum, when i went t...
