Re: Could this be the ultimate melee weapon against the undead?

You'll get better results out of kukri-style blades if you shift your point of impact back about 1/3 way or more along the blade length so that the impact point is on the "back side" of the lobe at the end of the blade. Based on PM's in the last 24 hours, it seems that a potluck cookout has already spontaneously formed. Slaw would be perfect! :D PM Lonely Raven for location details, etc.

Re: Wife just got me World War Z

After reading WWZ I recommend you listen to the Audiobook version. Max Brooks reads the part of himself (the narrator) throughout and there's some cool voice talent involved including Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Henry Rollins, and Carl and Rob Reiner.

Re: Group Buy for Custom ZS Nalgene Bottles?

I'm going to link the Chicago Crew to this thread Thanks for that! :) I'm sure we'll get the 36 minimum easily. A rough, conservative count in this thread, counting only people that said "I'd buy N of them", using the lower number if they speficied a range, and counting as one if they were vague ("...

So those of us who got together on Mar 19th for the fundraiser and to discuss launching a Chicago area chapter, are planning on another meeting on Apr 17th. We're still finalizing the location of the meeting, a member in Bolingbrook has volunteered his home, but if enough others want to attend we'll...

Well, the couple behind me did leave after seeing the eyeball getting eaten... wonder if that made them leave? Everybody else was cheering. Heh, yeah I'm still scratching my head about that one, did they not realize the movie would be gory? It's a zombie movie after all! I enjoyed the movie also, i...

Re: Fuel flexability in the aftermath.

Keep in mind that petroleum-based fuels break down over time. Gasoline won't run your motor after about a year of storage. So, make sure to get where you want to go and then plan to hoof it after the first year.

The Buffalo Range looks good. I'd probably be up for a range day there sometime once they open up for the season.

One of the bigger problems with freezing living tissue is that the formation of ice crystals ruptures the cell membranes. Thus, as BadComic correctly points out, when they thawed out they'd turn to mush!
