My question is, why not just carry spare parts? For both my AR and my 1911 I've got spare springs, pins, plugs, ect. They go in my bag with my cleaning gear. That way, if I'm cleaning my firearms and something doesn't look right, I can just replace it then and there. Then I'm good to go. I mean, whe...

16 Gauge is actually pretty common in other parts of the world. A buddy of mine who grew up in the jungles of South America said 12ga and 16ga single shots were the most popular firearms down there.
