Re: Modular home on plot of land
Must be night of the living dead threads. This is a great source of modular home providers. https://modernprefabs.com/prefab-homes-designers/ I am also a big fan of SIPs. There are plenty of YouTube videos demonstrating their easy of assembly and structural strength. This fellow in New Mexico will d...

Daybreak
A low budget dystopian HBO movie. It could have been called "When They Were Young" Made in 1993, it is an allegory of the AIDS crisis of the late 80's. Look for a young Cuba Gooding Jr. Omar Epps, Moira Kelly channelingJamie Gertz, SATC's Stanford Blatch with hair, Martha Plimpton and a bunch of act...

Re: Hostile
Thanks, I started watching it last weekend but decided sleep was more important after the roll over. I liked that is was filmed in Morrocco, I read in IMDB that the actor who played the zombie/mutant has Marfans disease giving him a unique spindly look. I might go back and fast forward just to see t...

Re: EMP car?
Cars over 25 years old can be imported to the U.S. without crash test data, or emissions. Europe has heaps of relatively low mileage diesel SUVs like this 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser LJ73 with only 155,3342 miles for $3,100. Go to www.mobile.de pick the British flag from the pulldown menu and search to...

Prepping for Furlough
Last week the Agency where I work as a contractor instructed division chiefs to start identifying essential personnel. Meanwhile, I'm thinking this is a good opportunity to burn through the various dry goods, grains and canned foods in the pantry.
Any other ideas?

since he was eating essentially trash from a landfill and was in complete isolation (which research shows leads to not great things for humans mentally and physically) a part of me wonders if he didn't actually carve out an existence worse for himself than the prison he was trying to avoid. Yes, he is a scumbag sexual predator but I kind of have to admire his ability to put together a hasty bug out location and his skills in scrounging and piecing together a surprisingly comfortable lifestyle for someone living in a hole in the ground. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/...

This is tough movie to get through but has a great cast. Michael Biehn playing against type as a misanthropic building super. The always great Courtney B. Vance, Lauren German two years before she co-starred as Det. Decker on the TV series Lucifer, Milo Ventimiglia from This is Us erases any nice fe...

Re: Severe radiation exposure amid blast at Russian missile testing ground
Russia finally admitted to having five technicians die in the explosion. Last year Putin boasted of a cutting edge cruise missile that would have unlimited range. Nuclear powered cruise missiles were an idea that the U.S. looked at decades ago and realized it was a bad idea. Jalopnik had a pretty go...

Moved from another thread. Yeah, the magazine with the top hat and monocle guy that makes the Monopoly Man look like nouveau riche, had a good video about prepping. Despite the rather lurid headline, they must be standing too close to the New York Post, the story was pretty well thought out on why p...

....(snip).. Now, in a practical sense the responses have been somewhat different. Some people want all money to go to a central organization, of course, where some people recognize that logistics prevent that from being practical. But people do recognize the need. Having worked with the USAID disa...

The boy was at the Dewey Bridge Campground in Grand County, located along the Colorado River, when the bear bit him, according to the Utah Division of Wil...
