Re: How did Venezuela end up this way?

Kinda-sorta Brownshirt-ity like? The color is just a coincidence. As you can see most of them are pensioners and campesinos. The real Strumabteilung of Chavismo are the colectivos, violent motorcycle gangs with a Bolivarian patina. http://www.notiactual.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/wpid-grave-lev...

Re: How did Venezuela end up this way?

From Bloomberg: Venezuela's Rank-and-File Soldiers Have Been Deserting in Droves About 4,300 national guardsmen have left in the past 5 years - Active and reserve military barred from leaving the country I'm not surprised & I don't think anyone else is either. True but important to note that the Gu...

Thirst

Two millennial couples, Bro & Barbie and emo guy & girl from Party of 5 crash in a desert ravine. Spectacular landscape shots. Realistic but slow paced until the ending where I will need to consult a real doctor.

Cockneys vs Zombies

This received several passing mentions but never a full reviews.

Now on Amazon Prime, think Shaun of the Dead meets Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Cool opening credits, great character actors, brainless fun and the original Pussy Galore Honor Blackman.

Re: What are YOU currently lusting after? (firearms related)

The Berreta ARX160. It’s modularity is cool but I love that it is fully ambidextrous. I’d love to be able to buy six to outfit the whole family. Those are te ones thst look like they have a guppy belly, right? Those are pretty neat and very affordable compared to a lot of other options. I believe t...

That would certainly explain the sudden and uniform outbreak of the zombie pathogen. Suddenly this movie makes much more sense. Thank you!

I liked that the hero used a bicycle to traverse the the post zombie apocalypse landscape and used a British community garden to supplement his diet. I also liked that the movie was in focus. Everything else was utterly brain-dead. Typical set up of arrogant scientist who’s genetically modified some...

It is actually better than it sounds. It kept my interest throughout which is tough these days.
High praise from the Gene Siskel of Apocalyptic cinema.

Is that the one where they put plastic up all over the place? I think I saw it a long time ago.

Finally Amazon Prime recommends a better movie. I did some research after watching it and learned that this movie was independently made, premiered at Sundance in 2006, and was picked up by Lion’s Gate for $3 million. This is a pre smart phone movie, funny how that’s the way I’m classifying disaster...

Me and My Mates Vs The Zombie Apocalypse

Australia’s answer to Shaun of the Dead? No, but it is mildly amusing with a few laugh out loud moments. It is too long by half, so watch it while folding laundry. On Amazon Prime.

Daylight Ends

Lance Hendriksen and Louis Mandylor were the only recognizable actors in a serviceable vampire PAW movie on Amazon Prime. Shot in the environs of Dallas and Katy Texas they did a decent job. What I really liked was the hodgepodge of weapons the survivors were using. AKs ARs FALs, Ruger Mini 14s and ...

Poe Dameron and Queen Amidala make a movie. S l o w, pretty colors. 2001 A Space Odyssey made more sense. Love conquered all. On Amazon Prime. Watch something else. Anything else.

While googling this movie, I saw that Julie Strain is under hospice care for late stage dementia and not expected to live much longer,
That is truly a wretched way to go. I wish her peaceful passing.

Battle Queen 2020

Julie Strain stars in this stinker on Amazon Prime about a PAW where Victoria's Secret and Frederick's of Hollywood were the only things that survived the cataclysm. Not even worth fast forwarding through it.

Re: good starter tool set for home and auto use ?

Lowes had some great deals on starter Kobalt tool sets over the holidays. Still have some. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-Household-Tool-Set-with-Hard-Case/1000050429 This will cover quite a lot of tasks from home repair to simple auto repair. For $99 I’m tempted to buy it and just junk all my old...

Thanks for the heads up. This would make a great double feature with Panic in the Year Zero, also an atomic age PAW movie, starring Ray Milland (Man with X-ray Eyes) and teen heartthrob Ricky Nelson. He plays an Everyman providing and protecting his family plus getting a girl for his son to repopula...
