Re: Wuhan Coronavirus Thread
I live next to LAX. The disease portal of the entire US. So I am concerned about these things. I don't know how many thousands of people cycle thru our town to and from the airport in a given day. But it's a lot. And they are from every corner of the earth. I haven't read this entire thread. But I ...

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?
I’m looking at eliminating discretionary spending and setting up a cash reserve to cover our expenses for at least two weeks. I work as a contractor at a very large government agency located near the beltway, with almost 5000 people in the building, we would be a prime location to be shut down to br...

FLU
This is a Korean language Amazon Prime movie. Given current events, I thought it would make an interesting movie. It begins as a solid disaster movie/public service announcement about a flu outbreak. Then it become more and more lurid with people making some seriously bad decisions. However, given w...

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus Thread
Just heard a phone conversation between a Chinese investigator and a female employee at one of the 7 crematoria in Wuhan. Man I had no idea women could curse like that. Apparently this particular crematorium has been so busy lately that their staff of 110 has barely had a chance to sleep. She said ...

Those are all excellent questions to be asking. The image I saw was taken earlier on 10 February. The area over Wuhan was off the scale gray. One possible explanation is 10 February was the end of the extended Chinese new year. As a result if people were going back to work in the manufacturing secto...

Obviously technology has advanced since 1990/1991's Desert Storm/Persian Gulf War/Gulf War I , but back then US spy satellites were set to detect the infrared plume or signature of a ballistic missile being fired. The satellites would detect a Scud missile being launched and send an alarm to NORAD....

What isn't argued is the name To maintain morale, wartime censors minimized early reports of illness and mortality in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.[10][11] Papers were free to report the epidemic's effects in neutral Spain (such as the grave illness of King Alfonso XII...

It crossed my mind that if the crematoriums were running 24/7 as has been alluded, due to the large amount of people killed by this virus. Wouldn't our spy satellites have picked up these heat blooms? And if so , then our government is complicit with China over the severity of the problem. OPIR - O...

We know why the flu pandemic of 1918 was called the Spanish flu. If the larger numbers in China are correct , Then we haven't learned from the mistake of 1918. Why? From the CDC: March 1918 Outbreaks of flu-like illness are first detected in the United States. More than 100 soldiers at Camp Funston...

While the research is transferable, any weaponization would be done elsewhere. couple dozen Coronavirus may ...

Back in the late 90s I completed the 40 hour Hazmat emergency response course. It seems like any sound contingency evacuation plan would make provision for keeping pets and families together, as it would be traumatic for both to be separated, especially permanently. I can't imagine leaving ours behind. Coronavirus's ability to spread getting s...

I previously reported on the Netflix series Explained and their 20 minute episode on The Next Pandemic. I'm currently 4 episodes in to the six episode docu-series "Pandemic". This is excellent. It takes a global look at the effort to control pandemics, from the lone doctor on duty at the hospital in...
