Re: Suppressor for 9mm carbine + pistol

Rugged Obsidian, SWR Octane, Liberty Mystic X, etc. Grab one with a interchangeable back so you can use a 3-lug or other mount on the Keltec and use the recoil booster when putting it on the Glock. I went with a Storm Lake barrel, but there's plenty of choices, including Glock factory.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Oh my damn I hate to ask this,... But I want the clarity. AR build,.. converting a rifle to pistol to rifle to pistol on the same lower. To stay legal, does is matter how you register the lower? Do you need to register as a pistol or other on the 4473 to stay legal? Does converting from rifle to pi...

Re: Help me find an AR barrel please

BHW - Wow just found the barrel I've been looking for: R15 5.56 (.223 Wylde) caliber barrel 10.5 1/7 with M4 extension 416R stainless steel Caudle 3 land polygonal rifling Titanium Cerakote. $310 Do you know if their bores are chromed or treated in any way? Couldn't find that on the website. That s...

Re: Beretta CX4...... Is the wait finally over?

India was the big contract, but Italy and Venezuela also use the MX4. The list of military and LE users of the CX4 is too extensive to type from memory. I had always assumed the MP5 was the most widely used pistol caliber submachine gun, but I guess I was wrong on some counts. Looks like I need to ...

Vietnam flies the Sukhoi/Flanker series, up to and including the Su30 and Su27, so I would guess Russia?

Re: China MAY Put its Nuclear Weapons on High Alert

Things might be hotting up between the PRC and ROC with the swearing in of a heavily anti-China, pro-independence president for Taiwan on Friday. Time will tell if this will end up just being more of the same that's been going on between the two Chinas, or if might wind up becoming something more. ...

Re: Intelligence Gathering and Patrolling

We've chatted a lot about patrolling and intel gathering and we can't wait until the zombies arrive to start the process of planning escape routes. Yesterday I spent a few hours on my bike exploring a route that parallels a typical dry, concrete lined SoCal "river". The 96 mile river is millions of...

Something light, so we don't waste fuel flying them to country before we lock them in the armory.

I've been reloading for 25 years I do know that the dimes won't work properly if at all. I'm not sure your right about the deer thing. Geesh you really are an uptight jarhead. "Buck and Ball" and "buckshot" both date to at least the American Revolutionary War, well before the introduction of the ca...

BoT got a 6" spread at 12 FEET and the same penetration in a water jug as birdshot. Any other testing is welcome, but this seems like something made up by a writer and repeated until it gained credibility.

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I have seen these at cowboy shoots. I recall that the only people using those brass cased rounds were the guys shooting double guns. Be careful with the load the brass shells were meant for black powder so I would stay with some fast burning pistol or flake powder. I would love to hear stories if t...

Re: Help: Bag/pack options?

Getting used to the suck is why Marines and soldiers get medically retired at the age of 30 with a bad back and 100% disability for knees and hips. You can do it in short bursts, believe me I have, but it hurts later. IMO, INCH is a sucker's bet. Cache stuff at your BOL, lighten your load, look into...

Re: The shotgun for self-defense, 12 gauge vs 20 gauge bucks

From my own experience buckshot loads seem very difficult to find at retail level. Sure the standard 9 pellet 00 buckshot 12 gauge round is all over the place, but try to find anything different, even in 12 gauge. Weirdly enough the Federal .410 handgun 000 buckshot load isn't hard to find. But for...

Most slugs will go through soft armor like it's nothing. High velocity copper sabots will tear through level-III stuff too.

Why did tou compare all rape, which would include statutory, rape by family or known acquaintance, and date rape, to kidnapping by a stranger? You seem to be cherry-picking stats and years that make for the scariest numbers. For example: https://rainn.org/get-information/statistics/sexual-assault-of...

Re: The shotgun for self-defense, 12 gauge vs 20 gauge bucks

If that's so, and the 20 gauge is so much lighter, then how does it also get lower recoil? Since the answer to your question is obvious, I have to assume your question is rhetorical. I'm also confused since your rhetorical question assumes a statement about recoil that was never asserted. My point ...

Re: The shotgun for self-defense, 12 gauge vs 20 gauge bucks

The ones I used had 12 pellets. I didn't buy from Midway but this is what it looked like. https://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/504x378/primary/753/753735.jpg Okay 12 pellets of 0 buckshot weighs about 588 grains. A 3" 20 gauge buckshot load of 18 pellets of #2 buckshot should weigh about 528 g...

Let me preface this by saying that I know almost nothing about converting stuff to biodiesel. With that being said: If you're talking about setting aside a plot of land, what would be the best way to determine a crop rotation for a given size of land (say, 5 acres) that would yield optimal amounts ...

Re: The shotgun for self-defense, 12 gauge vs 20 gauge bucks

I don't know that you've demonstrated that #00 is a problem in terms of pattern density, unless you looked at loads with more pattern control than a cardboard buffer and I missed it. Is there any 9 pellet 00 buckshot load you consider to have adequate pattern density at 50 yards range? I don't thin...
