Re: Looking to buy first house

The reason the price is so low is that few people are willing to invest in that market right now. Is there anything you think you know that the average buyer would not? As far as a "fixer-upper" goes, you very rarely get your money out of major room additions. I'd stay away from it personally from ...

Re: Looking to buy first house

Definitely check out http://www.crimemapping.com when you're considering a place. I'm looking to buy a house myself, and this website has steered me away from a couple after just checking out the crime stats for the neighborhood for the last couple weeks or so.

Re: New tires for my truck - P's instead of LT's?

Working in a tire & lube shop for a living, I would of recommended against the P tire, but it's a done deal. Does the plackerd on your door frame recommend both P and LT tires? Also, you'll notice quite a jump in size from the sizes you mentioned. Hope it works out for you. =/ realize that it's als...

Re: New tires for my truck - P's instead of LT's?

Ordered my tires this afternoon. $855 and change installed. I'm hoping these give my truck "that look" that I'm going for. Moving up to 285/70r17 from 245/75. Not much more tire, but hopefully it fills the wheel wells in a bit.

Re: New tires for my truck - P's instead of LT's?

Thanks for all the replies guys. I did look around online and was all set to order from discounttiredirect.com. A set of four Nittos was $792 shipped. Then I called Pep Boys. I'm not normally a PB fan, but they quoted me $860 installed. I'm headed over there at lunch to order 'em.

First, I'm not a professional mechanic by any means. I like wrenching on my own cars and do 95% of my own work.

If you have to use an oil filter wrench to get the oil filter off, then you put it on too tight. Just my opinion.

Re: New tires for my truck - P's instead of LT's?

Thanks for the reply. I knew I'd be alright but was looking for a little validation. I'm stopping on the way home to order them from Pepboys. They beat all the other shops in the area (and online!) by at least $100. Finally getting rid of my crappy Bridgestone Duelers.

New tires for my truck - P's instead of LT's?

I wanna get a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers for my truck. It's a 2005 Nissan Titan XE king cab. I'm looking to put the P285/70R17's on instead of the LT285/70R17. When I "off-road", it's generally dirt roads going to shooting ranges and stuff. I don't tow anything. When I have cargo, it's the same st...

1. what does everyone consider a valuable resource for hard evidence ? I don't have anything to offer, but I've got a question for you. You say you're trained to the first responder level, but not EMT. Is your training inline with this class offering from a local community college? http://i52.tinypic.com/2i9l3wn.jpg The reason I ask is that this class is something that...

I like these myself but I use mine as just a regular water bottle. They are tough. I left mine on top of the car by accident and I didnt notice it till it fell off going at least 50. Not so much as a scratch. As for the size, I know that they have a 1 liter one, thats the one that im using right no...

I like plain leather "Roping" gloves like these.. http://www.harborfreight.com/roping-gloves-35166.html I found my last pair at Lowe's. Look around. I've used the ones that the OP showed earlier, and they suck. I have a couple pairs in my emergency supplies in the garage, but that's about all they'r...

There is also this, the M10-A1 from Australia (AIA), it accepts any AK47 magazines and fires the 7.62x39 cartridge for those of you interested in that round and cheap magazines. http://www.milsurps.com/images/imported/2009/07/AM10A2762x39Sold12000-1.jpg Oh shit... That post is going to make...

But, I think on this one, you gotta say "Oh well." He had a chance to check it o...

Keep an eye on steepandcheap.com. They're run by backcountry.com. SAC has all different kinds of tents come up all day long. Deals change every 30 minutes or so, or until that item sells out. You can get some good deals on there. I've bought many things from SAC and the shipping is good and fast. No...

Do you have a source for these numbers?

Yo no se. But their twitter and facebook feeds haven't been updated in a month. I very recently purchased some hats that were on clearance on a website somewhere (I don't remember which one). All I can say is it doesn't look good.
