Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

I've not had the chance to handle the 7.62x51 ACE, just the 7.62x39 one. It was heavy, but not too bad. The M14 clone the shop had next to it weighed more and I think that was mostly because it had a wood stock. The .308 Galil Ace with 16" barrel has an advertised dry weight of 8.7 pounds. The M1A ...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

I've never thought to use my AK for deer hunting. I always figured if I ever went hunting, my Mosin is what I'd take. I like to think I started the SKS hunting craze in this area. Waaay back when I was fourteen, my Dad bought me my first centerfire rifle. He was thinking a Marlin .30-30. I wanted a...

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

Now available on Netflix.

Would've been nice as a four or five episode mini-series, but not bad for a two hour movie.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

It still doesn't have a name yet, but here's a trailer for the 3rd Walking Dead series. It would seem that the main cast were a bunch of little kids that grew-up in a fairly safe place during the ZPAW. And now that a decade has passed, and they're all teeny-boppers with excellent judgment and reason...

Re: The All Purpose AK Thread

Having a light that far back is no bueno.

On my old Beryl Archer I used an RS Regulate barrel mount coupled with an offset light mount.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

SO I assume based on your response you like the 22/45 configuration better than the Mark IV Standard? Can you tell me why? I would assume the original MarkIV configuration would be tougher - less parts too. Can you have a suppressor in WA state? I had a Mk3 22/45 Lite, and I still have an old stain...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Ruger Mark IV "Lite" or "Standard" for a BO second sidearm/grouse gun/rabbit gun/cheap lightweight ammo gun? Standard for it's ruggedness. The Lite so I could put a red dot on it. Weight difference is 3 oz. I like this one . You can put a red dot, suppressor, and weapon light on it. I'm not sure if...

For my Bastard Scout, I used an Ishapore 2A1 that I picked-up at a gunshow for $100 a few years ago. After adding a Clifton scout scope mount, Huber ball bearing trigger, Warne ghost ring rear sight, Choate front sight/FH, and a sporter forestock...I ended-up pretty close to $500.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

That's maybe functional (I just don't know, haven't use any of the items on that carbine), but...damn, that's ugly. I tried a Zhukov on one of my AK's. I liked the idea of a longer handguard, but ended-up not liking the extra weight. It has a full length aluminum block that attaches to the barrel, ...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

Thank you for the information. I did not know that. Is either one better than the other? Probably not. But it is interesting to note that a lot of the "fancier" brands, like Knights Armament, LWRC, Noveske, LMT, Mega Arms, and LaRue go with the Armalite-style....then there's the HK 417, which is it...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

The main annoyance is that the AR-10 family isn't near as standardized as the AR-15. Can you expand on that? Claude ham mercy....that's a can of worms. One of the biggest is the differences in receiver styles/shapes. A lot of brands fall into two main styles: Armalite or DPMS. An Armalite-style upp...

The Taurus does not care for steel-case ammo. :(
A lot of revolvers don't like steel. Are they getting stuck in all six chambers, or just one or two?
